The liquid crystal display panel comprises two substrates disposed opposite to each other and a liquid crystal layer filled between the two substrates, and the liquid crystal layer is formed from a mixture, comprising discotic liquid crystal, nematic liquid crystal and photoinitiator, by UV-light irradiation; the mixture comprises 5%˜50% by mass of discotic liquid crystal, 40˜90% by mass of nematic liquid crystal, and 0.05%˜10% by mass of photoinitiator. The liquid crystal panel can have reduced response time.

摘要： The present invention comprises a device and method for ordering molecules of lyotropic chromonic liquid crystals to aligned structure of a dried film. An example of an aligned film may be transparent to visible light but not transparent to polarized light in the ultraviolet and/or infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. A shearing device having a shearing tool and a repelling pad may repel the solvent and provide a shear force to shear the LCLC dissolved in the solvent as a film on the surface of a substrate. A method of making an aligned lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal-based film comprises providing a mixture of a lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal material in a solvent for the liquid crystal material, applying the mixture to a substrate, shearing the lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal with a shearing device and removing the solvent to produce an aligned lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal-based film.

摘要： The invention provides a film comprising a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) which exists independently from a substrate, i.e. a substrate-free PDLC; a fiber, a fabric, and a device thereof; and methods thereof. In an embodiment, a mixture comprising liquid crystal and monomers floats and is spread over a liquid base, before polymerization the mixture into a layer of polymer matrix dispersed with liquid crystal domains. The invention exhibits numerous technical merits such as improved transmittance, enhanced brightness, easier manufacturability, more flexible manufacturability, better cost-effectiveness, enhanced electro-optical performance, and improved device uniformity, among others.
