摘要： A filament comprising a polymer blend and specific articles comprising the filament are disclosed. The polymer blend includes an aliphatic nylon and a semiaromatic nylon. The aliphatic nylon is the major component of the blend and semiaromatic nylon is the minor component of the blend. The aliphatic nylon can be Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 610, Nylon 612, Nylon 12, and mixtures thereof. The semiaromatic nylon can be 6I/6T, 6T/6I, and mixtures thereof. The nylon blend filament provides enhanced mechanical properties such as modulus, ultimate strength, and yield strength with improved processability and reduced diameter variability at a reduced cost.

摘要： An apparel textile yarn includes a polyamide. The polyamide includes a nylon and a polyetheramine. The polyetheramine has a molecular weight of at least 1500 and an Amine Hydrogen Equivalent Weight (AHEW) of less than 10 percent higher than the idealized AHEW for the polyetheramine. The polyamide may have a moisture regain ranging from about 10% to about 30%.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a dull polyamide 56 fiber includes steps as follows. Bright polyamide 56 chips are provided. A viscosity adjusting step is provided, wherein a relative viscosity in sulfuric acid of the bright polyamide 56 chips is adjusted to a range of 2.90 to 3.00. A moisture adjusting step is provided, wherein a moisture content of the bright polyamide 56 chips is adjusted to a range of 350 to 550 ppm. A spinning step is provided, which includes providing dull polyamide 6 chips and a blending step. The dull polyamide 6 chips include TiO2. In the blending step, the dull polyamide 6 chips and the bright polyamide 56 chips dealt with the viscosity adjusting step and the moisture adjusting step are melted and blended, and then spun at a temperature ranging from 275° C. to 285° C., thus the dull polyamide 56 fiber is obtained.

摘要： A fiber is prepared by melt extruding a composition including specific amounts of a polyamide and a polyphenylene ether along with a compatabilizer. Particular combinations produce fibers having a desirable combination of good tenacity and low denier per fiber. Compared to a fiber prepared from polyamide alone, the present fiber exhibits improved heat resistance and flame resistance.
