    • This invention relates to functional socks which provide appropriate and variable compression on the various parts of foot.The functional compressive socks of this invention comprise the parts including shin, calf, instep, toe, heel, and sole. The said socks are characterized by the fact that all those said parts are subject to appropriate compression by part, and in addition, the said parts of shin, calf, instep, and sole are knitted with high elasticity yarn as the elastic threads and the core yarn single covered with polyurethane based long staple or long staple copolymer fiber as the inner threads, while the said parts of toe and heel are knitted with the core yarn single covered with polyurethane based long staple or long staple copolymer fiber as the inner threads, in appropriate ratio set respectively by the characteristics of the part.According to this invention which utilizes high elasticity yarn and implements a multi-stage compressive knitting technology that can adjust the lateral tensile force of the elastic threads, the blood in foot is pressed bilaterally promoting the circulation, therefore, the socks which can prevent or even treat the varix or edema can be produced.

In another implementation, loop yarn having a first shrinkage performance is formed in first regions to a predetermined loop height, and loop yarn having another, different shrinkage performance is formed in other regions; the loops are cut and finished to a common pile height and the web is exposed to heat to cause loop yarn to shrink to one or more different pile heights.

    • A sock includes an air escape route that allows humid air to be expelled to the outside of a shoe. The sock may include a first rib area provided in a ground-touching area of a sole portion of the sock, the ribs being formed in a desired direction. A second rib area, in which ribs are formed in a wale direction, may also be provided in an instep portion of the sock. The ribs of the first and second rib areas may be knitted with alternating knitted pile and knitted mesh fabric. Humid air collecting in areas that do not touch the ground passes through the concave portions of the ribs of the first rib area, and is impelled toward the instep side. Air flowing to the instep side of the sock via the first rib area is expelled to the outside of the shoe via the second rib area.
