摘要： This disclosure relates to a resin-impregnated, opaque, cellulose pulp-based sheet comprising an inorganic particle, wherein the inorganic particle comprises at least about 0.002% of tungsten, based on the total weight of the inorganic particle, and has a photostability ratio (PSR) of at least about 2, as measured by the Ag+ photoreduction rate, and color as depicted by an L* of at least about 97.0, and b* of less than about 4. The disclosure also relates to paper laminates prepared from these resin-impregnated, opaque, cellulose pulp-based sheets.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a fibrous nonwoven material made of chemically bonded fibers, where the fibers are bound with a polymeric binder in an amount which is sufficient to bind the fibers together to form a self-sustaining web, and where the binder comprises from 55 to 96 percent by weight of a film-forming polymer; from 4 to 45 percent by weight of one or more opacifying agents; and 0 to 2 percent by weight of one or more adjuvants, based on the binder composition solids. The binder composition provides opacity to the nonwoven material. The binder composition is especially useful in light basis weight nonwovens, and provide high opacity and tensile strength both dry and wetted.

摘要： A multi-layered coating for use preferably on paperboard or paper is disclosed wherein the coating contains at least two layers. The first layer contains at least one dark colorant, at least one white or near white pigment, and at least one binder, and the second layer contains at least one pigment other than a dark colorant, such as a white or near white pigment, and at least one binder. Slurries and dry mixtures containing these ingredients are also disclosed. A multi-layered coated paperboard or paper comprising paperboard or paper and the multi-layered coating is also disclosed. A method to reduce the amount of a white or near white pigment like titania is also disclosed which involves using one or more of the above-described multi-layered coatings on paperboard or paper.

摘要： There is provided an aqueous pigment dispersion for a light-shielding paper comprising a pigment component, an aqueous resin and water, wherein the pigment component contains 2 to 50% by weight of graphite in which at least 80% of the total number of particles thereof has the maximum diameter of 1 to 30 .mu.m, 2 to 60% by weight of a colored pigment, and 10 to 90% by weight of a white pigment, and each specific gravity of the colored pigment and the white pigment is 2.0 to 6.0 g/cm.sup.3. The pigment dispersion of the present invention can provide light-shielding properties by rendering coating onto a paper base material and also can provide a light-shielding paper which facilitates recycling and has a high quality when recycling of waste paper is effected.
