摘要： A locking system includes a lockcase which can be embedded within a recess in a jamb of a doorway. A barn door mounted outside of the doorway can be locked in the closed position by actuation of a lock mechanism within the lockcase. The handle interacts with the lockcase, causing a bolt to be translated out of the lockcase and into a strike in the barn door. The strike preferably passes entirely through the barn door, the strike including an outer entry which can be accessed via a key to push back the bolt and defeat the lock for emergency access. Cover plates and handles of different types can be provided for optimal performance. Lock mechanisms within the lockcase convert handle actuation into bolt translation between a collapsed orientation and a deployed orientation for locking the barn door.

摘要： A latch is usable for latching and automatically unlatching a lid operative to close a bin of a waste container. The latch includes a release weight that is moveable responsive to gravity from a first position to a second position to cause the latch to disengage from a release mechanism when the latch is rotated to one or more angular positions in a dump angular orientation. The latch and release mechanism are held in latched engagement when release slide bolts and latch slide bolts are engaged in extended positions. Movement of the release weight causes the latch slide bolts to move to retracted positions to enable disengagement of the release slide bolts and latch slide bolts. A release knob is operative responsive to manual movement in two different directions to enable the latch and release slide bolts to disengage.

摘要： An interconnected lock for use on a door, where the lock has adjustable offset spacing between a deadbolt and latchbolt. The lock includes first and second shafts for actuating the deadbolt lock mechanism, at different offset spacings. A linkage arm connected to and moveable by the latchbolt actuator is alternately connectable to rotate either the first or second deadbolt-actuating shaft. The linkage arm has first and second upper positions, for alternate connection to rotate the first and second deadbolt-actuating shafts, respectively. Upon operation of the interior actuator, the linkage arm moves the deadbolt along the second axis from the latched to the unlatched position at the same time that the operation of the interior actuator moves the latchbolt along the first axis from the latched to the unlatched position.

The latch includes a rotary damper in the housing that controls movement of the release weight in the housing such that an amount of time for the release weight to move responsive to gravity from the first position to the second position is slower than the amount of time the release weight would move responsive to gravity from the first position to the second position in the housing absent the effect of the rotary damper on the release weight.

The lock includes a removable and user accessible actuator which when removed from the lock disables a lock function, and when inserted into the lock enables the lock function. Removal of the actuator places the lock in a disabled condition in which the lock cannot be locked by other means. Insertion of the actuator into the lock places the lock in an enabled condition in which the lock is locked or unlocked by the position of the actuator. The lock is installed without the actuator when the lock is intended to be used only in a passage operation where the door provides access only, but does not restrict access. The lock is installed with the actuator when the lock is intended to be used in a privacy operation where the lock is intended to restrict access to an area.

The lock system comprises a bolt module in which control of the bolt can be configured differently on the two sides of a leaf or door. Control of the bolt module may be provided by various locking modules, which are also disclosed herein. The bolt module is reversible for left handed or right handed operation. In one embodiment the bolt module comprises: a bolt moveable between a thrown position and a retracted position; and a first rotor assembly capable of accepting a drive element, the first rotor assembly arranged to drive the bolt. The bolt module may also comprise a second rotor assembly. The bolt module may comprise an anti-thrust member obstructing driving back of the bolt under action of an external force on the bolt. The bolt module may comprise a lockable cover.

The clutch mechanism includes a first retractor that is movable in response to movement of an interior handle assembly and selectively in response to movement of the exterior handle assembly, and a second retractor that is movable in response to movement of the interior handle assembly and the exterior handle assembly. The first retractor is always engaged with the latch assembly to move the latch between the extended position and the retracted position.
