摘要： A device for attaching to a surface of a wind turbine blade is described. The device comprises a plurality of sections to be arranged end-to-end along a portion of the blade. Each section of the device comprises: a baseplate for bonding to the surface of the blade; a first panel extending from the baseplate; first and second end walls extending respectively along transverse edges of the baseplate and the first panel; a first tab extending from the first end wall; and a second tab extending from the second end wall, the second tab being transversely offset from the first tab. The tabs are arranged such that when the sections are positioned end-to-end with a first end wall of a first section adjacent to a second end wall of a second section, the first tab of the first section overlaps the second end wall of the second section, whilst the second tab of the second section overlaps the first end wall of the first section. An associated method of mounting the device is also described, which avoids the risk of compromising adhesive and/or sealant during the mounting process.

The method of lowering a wind turbine blade assembly comprises positioning the wind turbine blade in a substantially horizontal position, holding the wind turbine blade in the substantially horizontal position with a crane, removing the blade assembly from the hub and lowering the blade assembly with the crane. In a further aspect, a method of disassembling a pitch bearing from a wind turbine hub using a tool having a socket wrench is provided. In yet a further aspect, tool for connecting or disconnecting a wind turbine blade assembly to or from a hub of a wind turbine is provided.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to methods for manufacturing wind turbine rotor blades and components thereof, e.g. using 3D printing. In one embodiment, the method includes forming a rotor blade structure having a first surface and an opposing, second surface, the first and second surfaces being substantially flat. Another step includes printing a leading edge segment of the rotor blade onto the first surface, wherein heat from the printing bonds the leading edge segment to the first surface. The method also includes rotating the rotor blade structure having the leading edge segment attached thereto. A further step includes printing a trailing edge segment of the rotor blade onto the second surface, wherein heat from the printing bonds the trailing edge segment to the second surface. Another step includes securing one or more fiber-reinforced outer skins to the leading and trailing edge segments so as to complete the rotor blade.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for controlling and/or upgrading aftermarket multivendor wind turbines. The system includes a turbine controller configured to control operations of the wind turbine, a safety device configured to provide a signal indicative of a health status of the safety device, and a secondary controller inserted between the safety device and the turbine controller. The secondary controller is configured to receive the signal from the safety device over a communication interface. As such, if the signal indicates a normal health status, the secondary controller is configured to send the signal to the turbine controller, i.e. maintain normal operation. Alternatively, if the signal indicates a poor health status, the secondary controller is configured to adjust the signal based at least in part on a signal bias to an adjusted signal and to provide the adjusted signal to the turbine controller.
