摘要： A electric swivel, LVES, in a swivel stack, includes an annular outer element defining a cylindrical chamber around an axis S and an cylindrical inner element coaxial with the outer element. The cylindrical chamber is sealed at an upper side with an annular cover and is configured for rotation relative to the inner and outer element around the axis S. The inner element includes at an inner radial side first and second bearing parts defining an inner bearing. The outer element includes at an outer radial side first and second bearing parts defining an outer bearing. The inner bearing includes an inner annular interface between the first and second bearing parts, the outer bearing includes an outer annular interface between the first and second bearing parts. Each of the annular interfaces is coaxial with the inner and outer element, and each annular interface is configured as a flame conducting path.

摘要： A bearing assembly for a downhole motor is provided. The bearing assembly includes a housing and a drive shaft designed to rotate with respect to the housing. The bearing assembly also includes stackable thrust bearings, each pre-loaded via a corresponding spring component. Some thrust bearings are arranged such that their spring components distribute axial loads from the housing in a first direction to the thrust bearings. Other thrust bearings are arranged such that their spring components distribute axial loads from the drive shaft in the first direction to the thrust bearings. Thus, the bearing assembly may be tailored via the stackable bearings to distribute axial thrust forces on the downhole motor evenly across the different thrust bearings. The bearing section may include a machinable spacer used to provide a double shouldered connection between the drive shaft and a drive shaft cap used to compress the stackable bearings.

摘要： A tilting pad thrust bearing and a tilting pad thrust bearing assembly are provided. The tilting pad thrust bearing is configured such that when a load is concentrated on only a portion of a thrust bearing because of eccentricity or inclination of a rotating shaft, associated tilting pads are tilted so that the load can be dispersed to the other tilting pads to which comparatively small load is applied, whereby the tilting pads to which the concentrated load is applied can be prevented from being damaged. Furthermore, the tilting pads can be fixed by oil supply nozzles without using a separate fastening member, whereby the size of the tilting pad thrust bearing can be markedly reduced. The tilting pads and a plate have improved structures so that the time and cost required to manufacture the tilting pad thrust bearing or tilting pad thrust bearing assembly can be reduced.

摘要： A method of determining the axial load on load-sharing thrust bearings including: providing first and second thrust bearings, each including an inner race and an outer race supported by at least one resilient element; applying a test axial load to each of the first and second thrust bearings to elastically deform the at least one resilient element so as to axially displace the outer race; determining the test axial displacement of each outer race to obtain calibration data comprising values of axial load versus axial displacement; applying an in-service axial load to the first and second thrust bearings to elastically deform the resilient elements so as to axially displace the respective outer races; measuring the in-service axial displacement of each outer race; and based on the measured in-service axial displacements, inferring from the calibration data the values of the in-service axial loads on the first and second thrust bearings.

摘要： A bearing arrangement includes: first and second thrust bearings, arranged on a shaft and including respective first and second pressure faces; and a hydraulic connection, connecting the first and second thrust bearings and having a non-compressible fluid. Applying a shaft thrust load axially moves the first thrust bearing so that the first pressure face displaces the non-compressible fluid from the first thrust bearing to the second thrust bearing so as to apply a reaction force to the second pressure face, in order that the thrust load is shared between the first and second thrust bearings.

The first compliant element, outer race and rigid diaphragm at least partly define a pressure chamber. The first outer race is axially slidable relative to the second such that a pressure increase in the chamber changes the axial spacing between the first and second outer races, inducing additional axial load on the bearings which helps balance thrust load sharing.
