    • A pneumatic spring brake cylinder is provided for brake systems of vehicles, including a housing in which a spring brake piston loaded by an accumulator spring and connected to a spring break piston tube is guided in a movable manner, and an emergency release device for the emergency release of the spring brake piston in the event of a drop in pressure. The emergency release device contains a spindle which can be rotated relative to the spring brake cylinder and which can be screwed in a nut that is held in a rotationally fixed manner in the spring brake piston tube by a form-fitting connection. The nut interacts with an axial stop on the spring brake piston in order to trigger a release movement against the effect of the accumulator spring. The formfitting connection is formed between an outer polygonal profiled section of the outer circumference of the nut in a circumferential direction and a complementary circumferential inner polygonal profiled section on the inner circumference of an intermediate bushing and between an outer polygonal profiled section of the outer circumference of the intermediate bushing in the circumferential direction and a complementary circumferential inner polygonal profiled section on the inner circumference of the spring brake piston tube.

    • A wet brake cooling fluid system includes a cooling fluid supply line that is divided into a plurality of parallel paths. One path is in fluid communication with the motive side of a venturi eductor pump. Another pump is directed into the brake after passing through a fixed orifice that restricts flow. At least on path is in fluid communication with the brake after passing through a valve that is piloted to a brake piston, the valve only opening upon actuation of the brake. A drain hose connects the brake to the suction side of the venturi eductor pump, thereby causing evacuation of the fluid from the brake. Due to the restriction of fluid flowing into the brake by the valve, the brake chamber remains substantially empty during non-braking conditions, and is flooded upon actuation of the brake and opening of the valve.

When a vehicle moves backwardly on an upward slope, an application of hydraulic pressure to the forward clutch part is interrupted and hydraulic pressure is applied to the subsidiary forward clutch part, so that the piston is moved by the hydraulic pressure to compress the friction plates and the friction disks, thereby fixing the subsidiary coupling to the axle housing.

    • A control system and method for an electromagnetic clutch brake, including an electromagnetic clutch brake actuator coil surrounding a power input shaft for a multiple-ratio transmission in a vehicle powertrain. A protective circuit of the control system normally monitors data inputs from a databus that may indicate conditions that are not favorable for clutch brake actuation. The protective circuit prevents actuation of the clutch brake under such conditions. In the event the data inputs are not available from the databus, the protective circuit permits operation in a fall-back mode in which a brake ON timer is checked prior to clutch brake actuation. A primary counter is incremented with each normal clutch brake actuation and a secondary counter is incremented with each fall-back clutch brake actuation.
