摘要： An engine control device to be mounted on a vehicle is provided. The control device includes a transmission state determining module for determining a connection between a stepped transmission and an engine, determining that a gear shift has started if the connection is disengaged from a connected state, and determining that the gear shift has finished if the connection is resumed, a gear position estimating module for estimating a gear position when the gear shift is determined to have started, a target engine speed specifying module for specifying a target engine speed based on the estimated gear position, and a speed control module for controlling an engine speed to the target engine speed when the gear shift is determined to have started.

The second neutral has more engaged clutches than the first neutral. A vehicle controller is programmed to, in response to a request to shift from the first to the second neutral and a failed-on clutch being detected, inhibit the shift to remain in the first neutral.

The multi-step transmission comprises a rotatingly drivable driveshaft and an intermediate shaft parallel to the driveshaft, and at least one first transmission stage and a second transmission stage for transmitting torque from the driveshaft to the intermediate shaft with different transmission ratios, as well as a shift unit, wherein the intermediate shaft comprises an output gear for transmitting torque to a differential carrier of the differential drive, wherein a rotational axis of the differential carrier extends parallel to the intermediate shaft, wherein the output gear and the shift unit are arranged axially between the at least two transmission stages, and wherein the driveshaft comprises bores for supplying lubricant.

The range determination device includes a rotational state detection unit which detects a rotational state of a predetermined rotary member included in the range switching mechanism, and a determination unit which determines that the forward range or the reverse range is attained on the basis of the rotational state of the rotary member detected by the rotational state detection unit.

摘要： A manual transmission is partially automated by utilizing a controller to regulate the torque capacity of the clutch. Under most circumstances, the controller manipulates the clutch according to driver manipulation of a clutch pedal to simulate a non-automated manual transmission. However, to save fuel, the controller may enter a sailing mode in which the clutch is disengaged without the driver depressing the clutch pedal. The controller exits sailing mode in response to the vehicle speed decreasing below a threshold which is a function of the currently selected gear ratio. The threshold is selected such that the engine will not stall and will be able to generate sufficient power for acceleration when the clutch is re-engaged to exit sailing mode. In order to extend the use of sailing mode, the controller may activate a downshift indicator at a slightly higher speed threshold to encourage the driver to downshift.

A shift controller may selectively disengage the clutch when the shift sensor detects the operator input applied to the shift lever, and selectively engage the clutch when the shift controller determines the shift is complete.

The position sensing system has an array of magneto resistive sensors and a controller configured to determine a position of a magnet along a path by triangulation. Some embodiments are relatively insensitive to fluctuations in a distance between the sensors and the path. Also described is an actuating assembly comprising a movable cylinder and a fixed rod. The actuating assembly may be applied for moving synchronizers or the like in power transmissions.
