    • A butterfly valve with an undulating sealing surface, which has an inflatable annular seal mounted in a housing. A disk is pivotally mounted in the housing and has an edge with an undulating sealing surface and a peripheral sealing edge. The undulating sealing surface of the disk and a sealing face of the annular seal have non-mating profiles when the valve is in an unsealed condition. Pressure in a chamber proximate the annular seal causes the face of the annular seal to expand and deform and the face forms a high-pressure seal between the sealing ridge and the annular seal. Also includes a method for stopping delivery, of a conduit transportable material through a butterfly valve.

    • An inlet valve is provided for a pneumatic tool. The pneumatic tool defines a space and a passageway communicated with the space. The inlet valve includes a ring and a controller. The ring can be tilted in the space between a first position where it blocks the space from the passageway and a second position where it allows the communication between the space and the passageway. The ring defines a central aperture. The controller can be pivoted in the space between a first position, a second position and a third position. The controller includes a disc and a rod raised from the disc. The disc is put against the ring as the controller is in the first position and pivoted from the ring as the controller is in the second position. The rod is inserted through the central aperture of the ring. The diameter of the rod is smaller than that of the central aperture of the ring in order to allow pressurized air to travel through the central aperture of the ring as the controller is in the second position. The rod pivots the ring to the second position as the controller is in the third position.

    • A hand-operated hemispherical or spherical valve that provides an improved seal when dealing with fluids containing, or consisting entirely of, particulate matter is provided by the present invention. The valve utilizes an inflatable elastomeric valve seat that interacts with a primary closing member to permit or restrain the flow of fluids or particulate matter in a channel. The valve is opened and closed by turning a handwheel that is connected to a drive shaft. A sleeve having a cam is mounted on the drive shaft such that the cam engages a pressurized gas supply switch that inflates the inflatable elastomeric valve seat or seats when the hand wheel is turned to a closed position. Conversely, when the hand wheel is turned to an open position, a valve drive shaft, key and keyway function in conjunction with the drive shaft to turn the sleeve and disengage the cam such that the elastomeric valve seats are deflated prior to the primary closing member moving out of the closed position.

    • A damper valve includes a base, a valve blade pivotally mounted on the base and two serially arranged valve seats. Each valve seat comprises adjustable valve seat portions on opposite sides of a pivot axis of the valve blade, the valve seat portions being positioned on opposite sides of the blade. Each valve seat portion includes a stationary member fixed to the base, an adjustable element movable relative to the stationary member, and bolts fixing the adjustable element to the stationary member. Adjustment devices are provided for moving each adjustable element toward the valve element to provide a precise fit along the entire length of the valve seat. The valve seats and the valve blade define an annulus which can contain gas at a higher pressure than the fluid controlled by the valve, so that none of the controlled fluid flows past the valve.

    • A structural member defining an opening. Pivotally mounted within the opening is a damper blade, the blade being movable between open and closed; means for so moving are also provided. An inflatable sealing member having a sealing surface for contact with the edge of the damper blade and responsive to changes in pressure within the sealing member is attached in sealing relationship to an internal surface of the structural member and is positioned in a plane transverse to gas flow through the opening. There is further provided a means for inflating and deflating the sealing member.
