    • A valve having improved inherent flow characteristics, improved noise characteristics, and improved dynamic torque characteristics is provided. The valve includes a disk for controlling fluid flow inside the valve. The disk has a first vane and a second vane disposed relative to the first vane. In accordance with one embodiment, the second vane is disposed along an axis extending from a pivot point of the disk. In such an embodiment, the first vane is disposed offset from the second vane. The first vane and the second vane can be substantially parallel. The valve further includes an upstream indentation for dynamic torque reduction and can include noise and cavitation reducing features on a downstream side of the disk and/or an indentation for dynamic torque reduction in case of a fluid flow reversal.

    • A valve assembly comprising a rotary closure element which defines an axis of rotation and is selectively movable between a fully open position and a fully closed position. Mounted to and movable with the rotary closure element is an impedance assembly. The impedance assembly defines an inflow end and an outflow end, and comprises a plurality of fluid passageways of varying noise attenuating capability which extend from the inflow end to the outflow end. Also partially defined by the impedance assembly is a flow opening which extends from the inflow end to the outflow end. A retainer bracket is disposed within the flow opening and is cooperatively engaged to both the closure element and the impedance assembly.

    • A valve (1) has a valve housing (2) with an inlet (3) and outlet (4), a valve body (5), provided with an essentially cylindrical passage (6) and pivotally mounted in the housing (2). Essentially plane walls, defining chambers between them and provided with through openings (11; 11′) are arranged in the passage (6). Upon opening the valve the inlet connects solely with one chamber, which via wall openings and intermediate chambers connects with the chamber opposite and the latter with the outlet. During the successive opening sequence of the valve more and more chambers and finally all chambers are made to connect with the inlet and the outlet respectively. The device has at least one pair of intersecting walls (8a, 8b; 9a, 9b, 10a, 10b). These are located in the passage (6), so that two opposing chambers (K1, K4; k1, k9) situated nearest to the inlet (3) and the outlet (4) respectively lie symmetrically in relation to a center plane, in which the central axis (6a) of the passage is situated during the rotational movement vice-versa (5) between the opened and the closed position and vice-versa.
