摘要： An insulating collar for a gap sub assembly for electromagnetic (EM) telemetry used in downhole drilling is disclosed. The gap sub assembly comprises a female member comprising a female mating section and a male member comprising a male mating section and a gap section. The male mating section is matingly received within the female mating section and electrically isolated therefrom. The insulating collar is positioned on the gap section. The collar is made up of a framework with a plurality of discrete bodies spaced about the framework and a portion of each of the discrete bodies protrudes above the framework. Either the framework or the discrete bodies are made of an electrical insulator material to electrically isolate one end of the collar from the other end of the collar. The collar therefore electrically isolates the male member from the female member and the male member, female member and insulating collar function as the “gap sub” for EM telemetry.

The outer sleeve is sized to fit into the partition aperture. The inner sleeve is sized to nest into the outer sleeve and includes a non-concentric inner rim. The bushing component defines a tube aperture configured to retain the tube and includes an outer rim sized to nest into the inner rim of the inner sleeve. The tube aperture is non-concentric with the outer rim of the bushing component. The cap includes an inner rim sized to nest over the outer rim of the inner sleeve. The tube aperture position may be adjusted by changing the relative angular position of the bushing component, the inner sleeve, and the cap.

The dielectric fitting includes a metallic body including a distal end and a proximal end and a flange extending radially from the body and having a first end surface and an opposite second end surface. An electrical insulation over-mold adheres to the distal end of metallic body, the second end surface of the flange and at least a portion of the first end surface. The insulation over-mold is secured by a plurality of recesses or by an annular member positioned along the distal end. 摘要： A coupler for electrically-isolating two conductive sections of fluid-passing line includes two nonconductively-interconnected pieces of tubing for insertion in the line. The pieces of tubing each have a divergently-flared end, and the flared ends are nonconductively-interconnected within two dielectric wafers. Each wafer has a tapered hole extending through it that matches the flared ends and enlarges to a face on the wafer. The flared ends are each bonded within a separate one of the tapered holes in a position recessed from the face with the flare of the end paralleling the taper of the hole, and the faces are bonded together with the larger ends of the tapered holes aligned and the flared ends sealed in fluid communication with an electrically-nonconductive gap between them.

摘要： A liquid level control is provided for a pulping apparatus, wherein the pulping apparatus is of the type that is adapted to receive waste and other debris, along with water, for abrading or otherwise comminuting the waste in a water medium within the pulper, and then for discharging a slurry formed thereby, wherein the liquid level within the pulper must continuously or periodically be replaced. A closed-ended vertically disposed line is tapped into the lower end of the pulper, and adapted to receive liquid therein, with air being trapped at the upper end of the vertically disposed member. The trapped air is adapted for actuating a switch, which in turn actuates a valve or other suitable means for controlling the amount of water or other liquid to be supplied to the pulper. A pressure gauge may also be provided at the upper end of the closed-ended tubular member, in order to give a visual indication of the pressure of the trapped air. Also, a restricter may be provided between the lower end of the vertically disposed tubular member and the trapped air at the upper end that actuates the switch, for the purpose of retarding fluctuations, or providing a dampening effect with respect to fluctuations attendant to substantially instantaneous reductions in water level and/or pressure within the pulper.
