The distribution pipes (3) have an anti-corrosion coating on the inside in order to ensure a value for C in a range of 125 to 150 during commissioning of the fire extinguishing system.

摘要： A method for forming a high temperature field joint between two insulated pipe sections, and an insulated conduit having a low temperature field joint. The conduit comprises a steel pipe with a corrosion protection coating and a pipe insulation layer comprising a polymer composition having thermal conductivity of less than about 0.40 W/mk, and/or heat resistance to continuous operating temperatures from about 150° C. to above about 205° C. After a circumferential weld joint is formed between the two pipes, a first field joint insulation layer is applied over the joint area, the first field joint insulation layer comprises a polymer composition having heat resistance to continuous operating temperatures from about 150° C. to above about 205° C.

摘要： A corrosion protected metal pipe for installation in an offshore structure or for producing a pipeline laid in water is provided. The metal pipe has an at least two-layer covering on the pipe with a lower layer facing the pipe and an upper layer on a side of the lower layer not facing the pipe is provided. The layers are formed such that the lower layer is electrically conductive and the upper layer is electrically insulating, the lower layer is optically contrasting to the upper layer, or the lower layer is electrically conducting and optically contrasting to the upper layer and the upper layer is electrically insulating. Thus, in the event of damage to the layer or layers lying above, a visual or electrical signal can be detected. Damage to the corrosion protection covering can therefore be detected easily and, if appropriate, reported by remote monitoring.

The conduit comprises a continuous steel pipe having at least a first layer of thermal insulation provided over its outer surface. The first layer of thermal insulation comprises a polymer composition having a thermal conductivity of less than about 0.40 W/mK and long-term heat resistance at continuous operating temperatures within the range from about 150° C. to above about 205° C. The first thermal insulation layer comprises a polymer composition comprising a polymer selected from the group consisting of one or more fluoropolymers, hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR), and a blend of one or more fluoropolymers with HNBR. The conduit may further comprise second and third layers of insulation on top of the first layer, along with a corrosion protection coating underlying the first thermal insulation layer.

The assembly includes a housing defining a cavity therein and having an opening in communication with the cavity, the housing being attachable to the pipe to locate the cavity in communication with an epoxy patch positioned on the steel body to replace at least the damaged portion. The assembly also includes a heat source positioned for directing heated air heated thereby into the cavity, for curing the epoxy patch. The opening is at least partially defined by a perimeter, and the assembly includes an insulation strip positioned on the perimeter for impeding heat transfer from the housing to the undamaged portion of the coating when the housing is attached to the pipe.

摘要： A polymeric composition for insulating fluid and/or gas transport conduits, such as off-shore oil and gas pipelines operating at temperatures of 130° C. or higher in water depths above 1,000 metres. The outer surface of the conduit is provided with at least one layer of solid or foam insulation comprising a high temperature resistant thermoplastic having low thermal conductivity, high thermal softening point, high compressive strength and high compressive creep resistance. The high temperature resistant thermoplastic is selected from one or more members of the group comprising: polycarbonate; polyphenylene oxide; polyphenylene oxide blended with polypropylene, polystyrene or polyamide; polycarbonate blended with polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, acrylonitrile styrene acrylate, or polyetherimide; polyamides, including polyamide 12 and 612 and elastomers thereof; polymethylpentene and blends thereof; cyclic olefin copolymers and blends thereof; and, partially crosslinked thermoplastic elastomers, also known as thermoplastic vulcanizates or dynamically vulcanized elastomers.
