摘要： The invention provides a method of detecting the presence, absence or severity of a disease in a patient wherein said disease is accompanied by decreased level of S-adenosylmethionine, or increased level of S-adenosylhomocysterine, or reduced methylation index comprising: identifying any individual or a patient that is suspected of having said disease or is at risk of having said disease; obtaining a biological sample from said patient; determining the level of SAM in said biological sample using an antibody derived from a hapten analog of SAM, SAH; and correlating the levels of SAM, SAH and MI in said biological sample with the presence, absence, or severity of said disease. The invention also provides methods for determining methylation index in biological fluids which is indicative of the health status of an individual. Additionally, the invention includes colloidal gold test strips and homogenous enzyme immunoassays which are useful for determining S-adenosylmethionine and S-adenosylhomocysteine.

摘要： This invention relates to a method of predicting progression of an inflammatory condition in a subject, which involves providing a medium comprising hyaluronan or a fragment thereof; contacting the medium with a fluid sample from a subject with an inflammatory condition, where the fluid sample comprises proteins or proteoglycans and a transfer agent; incubating the fluid sample with the medium under conditions effective for the transfer agent in the fluid sample to mediate transfer of heavy chains from the proteins or proteoglycans to the hyaluronan or a fragment thereof to form a complex; detecting, using an antibody, occurrence levels of the complex; and comparing occurrence levels of the complex from said detecting to a reference standard to predict progression of an inflammatory condition in the subject. Also disclosed are methods of tailoring treatment of an inflammatory condition and quantifying local inflammatory activity in a body fluid.

The processing circuitry obtains a plurality of medical image groups in which respective motions of a part inside a subject have been photographed in time series and executes certain processing on the acquired medical image groups. The present peptide can be used to accurately diagnose osteoarthritis in its early stage based on the molecular imaging technique. The present peptide has a small molecular weight, and thus has advantages of fast clearance from the blood, effective permeation into the tissue, low immunogenicity, and low-production cost. Further, the present reagent can diagnose osteoarthritis in its early stage in which the destruction of cartilage is in a reversible phase and thus can be recovered to a normal state, thereby significantly contributing to effective treatment of osteoarthritis.
