    • A downpipe sensor detects single grains in a downpipe. A transmitting unit and a receiving unit are spaced apart across a measurement field. Light beams emitted by the transmitting unit are guided in the case of free beam path through the downpipe interior to the receiving unit and are attenuated during a passage of a grain. The receiving unit is a line element with a predefined number of receiving elements. The transmitting unit has light-emitting diodes with perforated screens and a reflector element in the form of a right triangular prism. Light is emitted from the diodes transversely to a receiving axis of the receiving unit, bundled via the perforated screens, guided into the reflector element, deflected by total reflection toward a exit surface to form a light band of parallel light beams. The light band illuminates the entire measurement field with even intensity.

    • The invention relates to a device and a method for identifying an object O in an opening that can be closed by means of a mobile element (12). Light is fed into at least one fiber-optic light guide (33, 34) from a light source (1, 2), and variations in the received light are detected by means of at least one receiver (Ea, Eb), the fiber-optic light guide being arranged at least partially along the edge of the opening (11). A first fiber-optic light guide sends light transversally to the length thereof, said light being then received by a second fiber-optic light guide transversally to the length thereof. The second fiber-optic light guide (34) is connected to the receiver (Eb). The fiber-optic light guides are arranged on the edge of the opening (11) in such a way that a light field (F) at least partially bridging the opening is produced. At least one light source (1, 2) and at least one receiver (Ea, Eb) are respectively associated with each fiber-optic light guide (33, 34), and a clock circuit is used to alternately feed the light received by the respective receiver into the fiber-optic light guides. Comparison means are used to compare the signals on the receivers in order to identify the object.

    • A sensing head for providing bi-dimensional and tri-dimensional data determinative of a position and an orientation of a target object is provided. The sensing head combines both a bi-dimensional and a tri-dimensional sensors. General illumination is associated to the bi-dimensional sensor to allow the acquisition of bi-dimensional data representative of the target object. A stripe-shaped laser light output is projected and diffused on the target object and is sensed by the tri-dimensional sensor. Tri-dimensional data is thus acquired. By proper processing of the bi-dimensional and tri-dimensional data, the position and orientation of the target object may be determined without moving the sensor head and without knowing its position and orientation.
