摘要： Systems and methods for spectrally broadening seed pulses with a single pass laser amplifier are disclosed. A bulk TM:II-VI polycrystalline material with combined gain and nonlinear characteristic provides passive (cold) spectral broadening of high power seed pulses. Continuous pumping provides more significant spectral broadening. In particular, pulsed pumping of TM:II-VI polycrystalline material (e.g. Cr2+:ZnS, Cr2+:ZnSe, and Cr2+:CdSe) is shown to provide significant spectral broadening to the super continuum generation SCG level. Pulse picking, pump sources, master oscillators and various optical components are described.

摘要： The present application provides an optical system. The optical system includes a fiber amplifier with an optically active doped fiber, a source of seed pulses, and a pump source. The doped fiber is doped with one or more active element(s) selected such that the seed pulses are amplified in intensity. The doped fiber has a negative (anomalous) group velocity dispersion in the region from the wavelength of the seed pulses to a threshold wavelength at which the magnitude of the optical loss of the doped fiber is greater than a gain due to stimulated Raman scattering.

摘要： To measure homodyne interference with a CARS microscope, a supercontinuum beam is used as a light source. A supercontinuum beam is generated using a nonlinear optical fiber that has normal dispersion in which the coherence between pulses is maintained. As the phases of the interference components of detected beams are the same between pulses, it is possible to integrate the interference components and thus improve the signal-noise ratio.

摘要： The invention concerns a Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) a method of its production and a supercontinuum light source comprising such PCF. The PCF has a longitudinal axis and comprises a core extending along the length of said longitudinal axis and a cladding region surrounding the core. At least the cladding region comprises a plurality of microstructures in the form of inclusions extending along the longitudinal axis of the PCF in at least a microstructured length section. In at least a degradation resistant length section of the microstructured length section the PCF comprises hydrogen and/or deuterium. In at least the degradation resistant length section the PCF further comprises a main coating surrounding the cladding region, which main coating is hermetic for the hydrogen and/or deuterium at a temperature below Th, wherein Th is at least about 50° C., preferably 50° C.

摘要： A white light spectroscopy system includes a super continuum light source having an input light source including semiconductor diodes to generate an input beam having a wavelength shorter than 2.5 microns. The light source includes a cladding-pumped fiber optical amplifier to receive the input beam, and a photonic crystal fiber to receive the amplified optical beam to broaden the spectral width to 100 nm or more forming an output beam in the visible wavelength range. The output beam is pulsed with a repetition rate of 1 Megahertz or higher. The system also includes a lens and/or mirror to receive the output beam, to send the output beam to a scanning stage, and to deliver the received output beam to a sample. A detection system includes dispersive optics and narrow band filters followed by one or more detectors to permit approximately simultaneous measurement of at least two wavelengths from the sample.

摘要： The present invention is applicable to the field of fiber laser technologies. In the present invention, two fiber lasers of different bands are used as seed sources to form a dual-band fiber laser that outputs beams of two bands simultaneously, and the dual-band fiber laser is used to pump the cascaded evolving assemblies. Specifically, when the laser beams of the two bands go through a first-stage evolving assembly, the laser of one band is evolved into a visible-to-near-infrared supercontinuum, while the laser of the other band is evolved into an ultra-short pulse; the visible-to-near-infrared supercontinuum and the ultra-short pulse are coupled and enter a second-stage evolving assembly; the ultra-short pulse is further evolved into a near-infrared-to-mid-infrared supercontinuum, in which the visible-to-near-infrared supercontinuum generated at the previous stage is transmitted in a low loss manner; and an ultra-wideband supercontinuum covering visible, near-infrared, and mid-infrared bands is finally output from cascaded fibers.

摘要： The invention relates to a supercontinuum light source comprising a microstructured optical fiber and a pump light source. The microstructured optical fiber comprises a core and a cladding region surrounding the core, as well as a first fiber length section, a second fiber length section and an intermediate fiber length section between said first and second fiber length sections.
