摘要： An electrophotographic color image forming apparatus develops an electrostatic latent image with a developer to form an image and includes a photoconductor and an optical writing device. The writing device includes a light-emitting element, a light emission control element, a deflector element, a synchronization detection element, a memory, and processing circuitry. The memory stores a first light amount of the light-emitting element when a color shift is corrected. The processing circuitry corrects the color shift by adjusting a write start timing, and corrects a detection shift generated when a light amount of light incident on the synchronization detection element fluctuates. The processing circuitry calculates a detection shift correction value of the detection shift of the synchronization detection element, using the first light amount and a second light amount determined as a lighting condition of the light-emitting element, and adds the detection shift correction value to a color shift correction value.

摘要： A rotating member control device that controls a first rotating member and a second rotating member to convey a sheet includes a processor configured to execute a program to implement processes of controlling the first rotating member and the second rotating member to come into contact or be separated from each other and acquiring a value that corresponds to or is proportional to a driving torque of a first driving unit that rotationally drives the first rotating member. The processor acquires the value upon separation when the first rotating member and the second rotating member are separated from each other and upon conveyance when the sheet is held between and conveyed by the first rotating member and the second rotating member. The processor further sets a rotational speed of the second rotating member such that the value acquired upon separation and the value acquired upon conveyance become equal.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a carrying part that carries media, a supply part that forwards the media to the carrying part piece by piece, wherein when a preceding medium is detected to have been fed to the carrying part, a succeeding medium is next fed to the carrying part, and a carrying controller that stops the preceding medium at a stop position of the media before the preceding medium is carried to the image forming process. The carrying controller obtains a medium length of the preceding medium in the carrying path, and changes the stop position of the preceding medium based on the medium length such that the trailing edge of the preceding medium is maintained distant from the leading edge of the succeeding medium while the preceding medium stops at the stop position.

The control unit is configured to determine the entrance time of each of the plurality of sheets for entering the loop in the paper path for the first pass and for the second pass while taking the repeating pattern recognized by the pattern recognition module and a length of the loop into account.
