    • Several systems and methods for accessing files stored in a storage device are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes accessing a file allocation table (FAT) in a computer file system associated with the storage device. The FAT includes a plurality of cluster addresses corresponding to a plurality of clusters allocated to a file stored in the storage device. A cluster address is read to identify a location of a next cluster. One or more bits in the cluster address are read to determine a presence of a signature value indicating allocation of a set of contiguous clusters from among the plurality of clusters. A number of contiguous clusters is computed based on a pre-determined number of consecutive cluster addresses succeeding the cluster address if the signature value is present. The set of contiguous clusters are read from the storage device based on the computed number of contiguous clusters.

    • A multi-user search system with methodology for instant indexing. In one embodiment, for example, a system for instant indexing includes a token store storing sets of tokens for current versions of documents. The system further includes a tokenizer server configured to tokenize new versions of the documents and to generate sets of tokens for the new versions of the documents, an instant indexer configured to determine tokens to use to index the documents based on identified differences between the sets of tokens for the new versions of the documents and the sets of tokens for the current versions of the documents, and to generate index mutations including the tokens to use to index the documents, an index mutation journal configured to store the generated index mutations in association with timestamps, and an index mutation server configured to provide, to index servers, from the index mutation journal, generated index mutations for the index servers that are associated with timestamps that are newer than specified timestamps.

    • Some implementations may include a gateway module to receive, from a software application, a command to perform an action to a database. The gateway module may translate the command to create a translated command based on configuration data associated with the database. The configuration data may enable the gateway module to determine how to perform the action to the database. The gateway module may determine whether the translated command is valid based on the configuration data. If the translated command is valid, the gateway module may send the translated command to the database. The gateway module may receive a result of performing the translated command from the database. The gateway module may determine, based on the translated command, the result, or both, whether conditions associated with a triggered command are satisfied (e.g., met). If the conditions are satisfied, the gateway module may send the triggered command to the gateway module.
