摘要： A method is provided to perform local de-noising of an image. The method includes obtaining a region of interest and a region of noise within a scan. The method also includes determining, for a first image based on the region of interest and a second image based on the region of noise, sample blocks and atoms for each image, where each atom contributes to a weighted sum that approximates a sample block in the image. The method also includes determining a measure of similarity of each atom from the first image with atoms from the second image and removing an atom from the first image if the measure of similarity exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The method also includes reconstructing a de-noised image based on atoms remaining in the first image after removing the atom from the first image, and presenting the de-noised image on a display device.

摘要： A computer-implemented method for viewing images on an interactive computing device comprises displaying an image from a stack comprising a display image and at least one compressed sub-image of nominally the same scene, each of the sub-images of the stack having been acquired at respective focal distances. Responsive to a user selecting a portion of the displayed image, the selected portion is mapped to a corresponding mapped portion of a sub-image within the stack according to the difference in focal distances between the displayed image and the sub-image. At least one row of compressed image blocks of the at least one sub-image extending across the mapped portion; and a reference value for a point in the compressed image stream of the sub-image preceding the row of compressed image blocks is determined. Using the reference, the row of blocks of the sub-image at least partially decoded, and a measure of focus for an area of the mapped portion coinciding with the decoded image blocks is computed to determine if at least that content of the sub-image should be displayed within a display image.

摘要： Traditional image denoising requires image analysis or noise level analysis. Differently, the invention provides denoising by dividing an input image into small square overlapping patches, computing and storing the mean value of each patch, and subtracting it from the patch. Each zero-mean patch is then automatically aligned to a reference orientation by computing a few relevant DCT coefficients of the patch, analyzing the patch orientation in terms of transposition, inversion and horizontal and vertical flipping, and applying a re-orientation transform to automatically pose the patch in a standard orientation, regardless of its contents. The reoriented patches are clustered, and each of the resulting clusters is either shuffled or averaged. Then, all patches are re-transformed back to their original orientations by reversing the previous transforms, their respective mean is added and the denoised image is reconstructed by overlapping the re-transformed and mean added patches.
