摘要： Apparatus and methods for an automated teller machine (“ATM”) currency stamper are provided. The currency stamper may be configured to mark currency retracted by the ATM. The mark may include one or more attributes of the currency. The mark may include transaction information associated with a dispensing and/or retraction of the currency. Marked currency may be stored in the ATM. Marked currency may be scanned. A scanning of marked currency may read the attributes of the currency and the transaction information included in the mark. The scanning of the marked currency may erase the mark. A value of the marked currency may be calculated. The value may be determined based on the currency attributes and transaction information included in the mark applied to the currency.

Weight, elemental data and volume is used to calculate gold weight and discounted market value based upon exchange rate, gold weight and a discount factor. Market value is displayed and if accepted, the system generates payment instruction and vault storage command. A rejection negates the acceptance upon request or error signal and generates rejection command. Machine transports item to various stations and, upon the storage command to the vault, and upon rejection to the item return port in the housing. An air displacement test uses a processor measuring a differential volume and a chambered item at a different pressure by a differential position of a piston movable in the chamber.

摘要： An automated banking machine operates responsive to data read from data bearing records to cause financial transfers. The machine includes a card reader that reads data from user cards corresponding to financial accounts. The machine can communicate with a host computer to cash financial checks. The machine can read check indicia, send check data to the host, receive authorization from the host to cash the check, and dispense cash corresponding to the check. The machine can also produce image data representative of the check indicia and determine whether the image data can be accurately identified within a predetermined level of assurance.
