摘要： The present invention is a simulator for skill-oriented training. The simulator includes a work piece platform having a sensor, a head-mounted display unit (HMDU) including a camera, a speaker and a sensor providing visual and audio output to an operator, and a controller having a controller sensor. The simulator includes a processor that executes algorithms to simulate a virtual training environment depicting a work piece rendered on the work piece platform. The controller sensor, the HMDU sensor and the platform sensor output signals to the processor representing spatial positioning, angular orientation and movement data of the controller relative to the work piece to render a virtual powder coating spray pattern including a stream having particles charged and emitted from the controller and a powder coating coverage as applied to the work piece during one or more passes of a powder coating spray process performed by the operator.

摘要： Improved systems and methods using a border guide and/or border guide easel that enables art instruction in a relatively low cost and simple to use manner suitable for group or individual instruction of a relatively sophisticated nature. A scaled border guide preferably labeled with numbers and letters provides a virtual coordinate or reference system that enables artists to locate multiple random points on the surface to be painted. A physical grid or stencil or the like are not used on the artist's surface. The scaled border lines are used to define a virtual grid on the artist's working surface that may be used to indicate reference, points, positions, sizes and shapes for drawing or painting. Art instruction methods allow the teaching of drawing and painting in a more classical and relatively sophisticated style as compared to paint-by-numbers or grid art.

摘要： Architecture that guides the freeform drawing of objects by a user to enable the user to produce improved drawings without significant training. As the user draws, the architecture dynamically updates a relevant shadow image proximate (e.g., underlying) the user's strokes. The strokes overlay an evolving shadow image, which shadow image is suggestive of object contours that guide the user during the drawing process. Relevant edge images selected from a large database are automatically blended to construct the shadow image. As the user draws, the strokes are dynamically analyzed using an encoding of overlapping windows for fast matching with the database of images. A top ranked set of matching database edge images are aligned to the drawing, a set of spatially varying weights blend the edge images into the shadow image, and a scoring technique is employed to select the optimum shadow image for display.
