    • Described embodiments enable identification of family networks using combinations of DNA analysis and genealogical information. Genealogical data is provided by users of a genealogical research service or collected from other sources and used to create family trees for each user. DNA samples are also received from the users. By analyzing the DNA samples, potential genetic relationships can be identified between some users. Once these DNA-suggested relationships have been identified, common ancestors can be sought in the respective trees of the potentially related users. Where these common ancestors exist, an inference is drawn that the DNA-suggested relationship accurately represents a familial overlap between the individuals in question. People descended from the same common ancestor are each members of a family network. Members of a family network not in a user's tree may be identified for the user, enabling the user to discover additional ancestors that might otherwise have remained unknown.

    • Provided is a computer system and method for providing key frame image mapping. A method includes collecting one or more images of a predetermined area on the map of a physical location; and organizing the one or more images on the map as a function of a time, location, and/or image history parameter. A computer system includes a mapping module including a data store configurable to organize one or more images according to locations on a map and a table. The table can associate metadata for images with a time line, an image history and/or a location. The association can enable an instantiation of a time-related image from images at locations of the map. The mapping module enables a personalized iconographic map of a physical location illustrating icons associated with a catalog of images that are incorporated with the time line. The time line can be associated with a trip taken to an area in a map such that scrolling the time line automatically causes images associated with that time appear as well as the location on the map wherein the picture was taken.

For example, one disclosed embodiment comprises a system for providing a computer-based educational game environment comprising a processor, memory, and storage storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, allow a player at a first remote computer to play one or more educational games at the first remote computer and allow a thematic specialist at a second remote computer to modify content or rules of the one or more educational games. In certain embodiments, at least one of the educational games is a game that requires a player to classify patterns into groups of like patterns.
