摘要： There are provided an information recording medium, an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a computer program, which can realize users' convenience for using content in accordance with a license and copyright protection. An information recording medium stores an encrypted content file including encrypted content, usage right information of the encrypted content, and encryption key information necessary for a decrypting process for the encrypted content. Thus, a user can acquire a license (usage right information) and key information necessary for decryption of the content, together with the content, from the information recording medium, without acquiring the license (usage rights) by connection to a license provider. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to perform a process of acquiring the license (usage rights) from the license provider when the content is to be used, whereby user convenience is improved, and license-based content copyright management can also be ensured.

摘要： An optical disc is disclosed having a set of primary tracks and a set of alternate tracks. At least some of the primary and alternate tracks are associated. When a CD-DA reader accesses the optical disc, it locates only the primary tracks. By contrast, when a data reader such as a CD-Rom drive accesses the disc, modifications to the Table of Contents (TOC) cause the data reader not to access a given primary track but instead to be directed to its associated alternate track. This alternate track may contain audio (CD-DA) data which may or may not correspond with the CD-DA data in the associated primary track. The alternate tracks may be copy protected, and/or may include compressed (not CD-DA) data which is the subject of digital rights management.

摘要： A data payload PD is recorded on a compact disc in a format including a lead-in indicating a track start address ATOC and a subchannel P which changes state at a payload start address AP, subsequent to the track start address ATOC. Data ED recorded at the track start address ATOC includes unrecoverable data. Where the data payload PD is an audio track, an audio-only player begins to search sequentially from the track start address ATOC until the subchannel changes state, and reproduces the audio track from that point. A data player, on the other hand, begins to reproduce data from the track start address ATOC. When the unrecoverable data is read, the read operation is aborted, as it appears that the data has been corrupted. This operation cannot be easily circumvented, because it is not normally acceptable to ignore corrupt CD-ROM data. The disc may also include a second session containing an encrypted version of the data payload PD, where each sector is encrypted using a different key which is derived from a sector address byan algorithm and requires a special player program which performs the decryption. A supervisory program prevents circumvention of the copy protection.

摘要： With data of four symbols (FIG. 11A), a parity of two symbols (FIG. 11B) is created. These six symbols are EFM-modulated. Each symbol of eight bits is converted into a pattern of 14 bits (FIG. 11C). In a pit/land sequence formed on a disc (FIG. 11D), two symbols are rewritten. One symbol is (0×40). When an additional recording process is performed for the bit/land sequence, the pit length becomes long (FIG. 11E). The reproduced 14-bit data is converted into eight bits on the reproducing side. Thus, the original data (0×40) is rewritten to (0×22). A parity is also changed so that the additionally recorded data symbol (0×22) is not detected as an error.
