    • A medium or high-voltage circuit breaker is provided. An arc-extinguishing fluid is stored in a pressure chamber, which is made up by an arcing chamber of the circuit breaker where an electrical arc is extinguished. No tubings or other conduction devices for pressurized fluids are necessary during current interruption. This speeds up contact separation and arc extinguishing. In a first, closed position of the circuit breaker, the pressure chamber is delimited by a sealing wall which is fixed to a movable first arcing contact. The sealing wall acts as a valve and as a piston at the same time, because it opens the outflow of pressurized arc extinguishing fluid and it concurrently actuates arcing contact separation. The arcing chamber enables the stored pressurized arc extinguishing fluid to perform fast contact separation within a few milliseconds and extinguishing a gaseous arc on the same timescale.

    • A tulip contact comprises a plurality of outer contact fingers and inner contact fingers. The outer contact fingers forming a shape of the outer surface of fixed contact in order to make the contact surface of each of these fingers contact with the outer surface of fixed contact. The inner contact fingers forming a shape of the inner surface of fixed contact in order to make the contact surface of each of these fingers contact with the inner surface of fixed contact. Each said contact finger comprises a first contact bulge for contacting with the surfaces of the fixed contact, and a second contact bulge for contacting with the bushing. And each said contact bulge comprises a contact slot on its surface. The first contact bulges of the outer contact fingers are not at the same cross section with the first contact bulges of the inner contact fingers.

    • The disclosure relates to an electrical contact system for a switching device having a mating contact and a second contact. According to the invention, the second contact has a contact tulip, at the outer face of which a current transfer takes place to an annular part of the mating contact. Exemplary embodiments relate to, inter alia: additional current transfer at an inner contact-making face of the contact tulip to a pin-shaped part of the mating contact; mating contact with mating contact tulip for engaging with the contact tulip; and measures for improving the contact forces. Advantages include: tulip-in-tulip design with large contact face, high contact force, reduced number of contact fingers, reduced number of mating contact fingers, and improved adjustment tolerance; contact tulip acts as an arcing contact and at the same time as a short-term current contact.

    • A high voltage, high current telescopic disconnect switch suitable for use in isolated phase bus duct has two fixed conductors and a movable telescopic conductor coaxially disposed within the first fixed conductor and movable to a closed position bridging the first and second fixed conductors. A plurality of contact fingers are mounted to the fixed conductors and have contact surfaces that extend into engagement with the telescopic conductor to make electrical contact between the fixed conductors through the telescopic conductor when in a closed position. The contact surface of each of the fingers comprises a first tip portion that extends beyond the fixed conductor and has a first radius that is slightly greater than the radius of the telescopic conductor so that the first tip portion presents an arcuate width that overlies in wiping electrical contact the telescopic conductor when in the closed position.
