    • Multipole coils (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) for influencing particle beams have at least two coils (1, 2) which concentrically enclose an imaginary axis (10), wherein a winding (7) made from a flexible circuit board (8) is formed by means of conducting paths (9) disposed thereon for each coil (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) and the circuit boards (8) are rolled into at least one circuit board layer (11, 12, 13, 14). Multipole coils of this kind (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) are utilized for aberration correction in particle optics, wherein the windings (7) of the multipole coils (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) form windows (16) whose width in the peripheral direction is chosen in such a fashion that no secondary interfering fields occur and whose length in the axial direction corresponds at least to its width.

    • A deflection yoke apparatus include a saddle-type coil bobbin, first guide grooves, second guide groove, third guide groove, and a multi-wire conductor. The saddle-type coil bobbin has a front end portion and a rear end portion. The first guide grooves is formed in the inner surface of the coil bobbin and extends across the front end portion and the rear end portion. The second guide groove is formed in the front end portion of the coil bobbin. The third guide groove is formed in the rear end portion of the coil bobbin. The multi-wire conductor is wound around the coil bobbin, the conductor being routed through the first guide groove, the second guide groove, and the third guide groove. The second guide groove and third guide groove have a width in a range of 1.0 to 1.5 times the diameter of the conductor.

    • A deflection yoke having a capability of correcting a lateral inner pincushion distortion with a magnetic field generated by a deflecting coil itself is provided. The deflection yoke includes a saddle-type vertical deflecting coil including a screen side bend portion, a neck side bend portion and a cone portion connecting the screen side bend portion and the neck side bend portion and is installed to a cathode ray tube. When viewing the screen side bend portion of the vertical deflecting coil from a screen side of the cathode ray tube in a direction along the tube axis, a distance between the screen side bend portion and the tube axis is the minimum at a portion close to a diagonal direction of the screen. As a result, the lateral inner pincushion distortion can be corrected with a magnetic field generated by the deflecting coil itself with a simple configuration, without adding any component for correcting the distortion and increasing a deflecting power.

Accordingly, misconvergence of a deflection yoke of Braun tube can be complemented without using an additional circuit and power consumption is reduced.

    • A cathode ray tube deflection yoke is provided wherein the deflection yoke includes a plurality of deflection coils. One or more of the deflection coils have a non-constant distribution of turns, whereby an electron beam passing through the deflection yoke is deflected by a magnetic field that varies according to different numbers of turns relative to position of electrons of the electron beam between the entrance and exit of the deflection yoke. The non-constant turns distribution may be linear or non-linear, may be monotonic or non-monotonic, and/or may have a positive or negative turns bias, either in whole or in part. The horizontal deflection coil and/or the vertical deflection coil, or both, may have a non-constant turns distribution.
