    • A mounting pole for high voltage equipment can be adjusted at particular increments to provide for installations at various heights. A base section includes a right-side flange, a left-side flange, and a center web formed substantially in the shape of an I-beam with a front channel. The center web includes a first set of adjustment holes. The base section also includes a control mounting bracket to receive hardware for securing a control unit for a high voltage switch. A channel assembly is slideably contained within the front channel. The channel assembly includes a second set of adjustment holes, and a set of mounting holes to receive hardware for securing the high voltage switch. The base section and the channel assembly are configured so that the first and second set of adjustment holes can be selectively aligned during field operations to set the mounting pole at one of multiple height increments.

    • A line deadend structure and method for using the same are disclosed in which three phase power lines can be attached to a single pole at different elevational locations on the pole. The lines can be attached to switches and can each be arranged to extend downward along the single pole at various differently spaced locations about the periphery/circumference of the single pole. The wires can then be connected to an electrical mechanism, such as a circuit breaker or transformer, which is located on the ground or at a lower level than the original wire connection location on the single pole. Tap mechanisms and/or fuse mechanisms can also be located on the single pole and in connection with the three phase lines to provide electrical access to the lines and/or fusing operations, respectively.

    • A distribution class surge arrester having a core formed of distributed zinc oxide varistor blocks, aluminum blocks acting as heat sinks and as spacers providing voltage grading and required arcing distances, and terminal blocks held in face-to-face contact by means of a glass reinforced epoxy shell which is formed by winding a pre-preg onto the assembled blocks and thermally curing under mold pressure within an evacuated mold.     • A support bracket apparatus for mounting a transformer rack or other device on a vertical support member such as a wooden pole, is disclosed. The support bracket apparatus includes a pair of hanger members fastened to the opposite sides of the pole by an adjustable fastening means which adjusts the spacing between the hanger members to accommodate different pole diameters. When used to support an electrical transformer rack, a pair of hanger members is employed at each end of the rack which have lower leg portions in engagement with a pair of mounting arms extending from the rack to support the weight of the rack and transformers on such hangers. The adjustable fastening means preferably includes a plurality of threaded sleeves which extend outwardly from an upper leg of the hanger member and threaded collars which engage the projections so that changing the rotational position of the collar adjusts the spacing between the two hangers. Mounting bolts extending through the sleeves and holes in the support poles are attached by nuts to the mounting arms of the transformer rack to mount the assembly on such poles. Alternatively, the threaded sleeves and collars may be replaced by shims on the mounting bolts to adjust the spacing between the hangers. The support rack is in the form of a hollow box beam made of laminated wood members having a concave curved notch in each end closed by a sheet metal cover to provide the two mounting arms on opposite sides of the pole.
