    • The combination of a first connecting assembly and a second connecting assembly. The first connecting assembly has a) a port with a central axis, a radially outwardly facing surface with threads thereon and axially spaced first and second free ends and b) an axially facing surface. The second connecting assembly has a) a tubular fitting with a central axis, axially spaced first and second ends and threads and b) a sealing assembly with a sealing portion. As an incident of axially moving the first and second connecting assemblies through cooperation of the threads on the first and second connecting assemblies, the sealing portion is deformed radially inwardly to engage sealingly with the outwardly facing surface on the port. A method of operatively connecting a cable to a port utilizes this structure.

    • According to this invention a central conductor of a probe is connected to that of a coaxial cable by joining a shell and cylindrical metal fitting. An end of an inner insulator of the coaxial cable enters a larger diameter portion of an elastic cylinder which fits in a fixed position of the cylindrical metal fitting, a central conductor of the coaxial cable stretching further to penetrate a narrower diameter portion adjacent to the larger diameter portion. A pin is pressed into the narrower diameter portion from the other side of the larger diameter portion side. By this operation the central conductor is held tightly between the surfaces of the narrower diameter portion and the pin. When the connection of the probe and cylindrical metal fitting is completed, the pin deforms the elastic cylinder so that the central conductor of the probe contacts tightly with the pin, which enables complete conductivity between the central condutors.

    • A wave guide fitting has a crimped over end cut axially between the end face of an attachment part and the shaped part forming the conductor part forming a continuation of the structure. The shaped part makes contact with the end via a radially inner annular land, with the interposition of a seal, which is placed in a groove in the end annular surface of the attachment part and has two pressing edges. Of these edges the radially inner one rests on the rear side of the crimped over end and the radially outer one rests on the end face of the continuing conductor part. The seal is constructed as a membrane-like disc, on which as pressing edges sealing lands are molded with a radial spacing between them. The disc, which is matched to suit the shape of the attachment flanges, has a further external sealing land, which rests against one of these flanges and provides for external sealing of the intermediate space between the two metal parts.
