    • This invention provides a positioning apparatus which improves the throughput by accelerating a stage in a shorter period of time while ensuring a fine positioning characteristic. A movable element is arranged on the side of a stage while a stator is arranged on the side of a base guide such that a pair of magnets of the same polarity face each other at each edge of the stroke region of the stage. This generates a repulsion force which acts against the thrust of the stage and corresponds to the facing area of the pair of magnets of the same polarity. The positioning apparatus further includes a large-thrust linear motor. The large-thrust linear motor assists the repulsion force by applying a thrust exceeding the repulsion force to the stage to increase the facing area of the pair of magnets of the same polarity.

    • In a starter with which a pinion movable body with which a pinion gear and a one-way clutch were united moves on an output shaft, a holder is attached to the one-way clutch. A seal component having the shape of a ring is provided so that an end of an outer circumference of the seal component is fixed to a nose part of a housing and an end of an inner circumference of the seal component slidably contacts an outer circumferential surface of the holder. The holder is provided so that relative rotation to the one-way clutch is possible. Since the holder doesn't rotate relative to the housing, wear of a seal component is reduced compared with the case where the seal component contacts the one-way clutch which rapidly rotates whereby the sealability preventing a foreign substance or water from infiltrating into the inside of the starter can be maintained.

    • A driver for an inflatable rotating exhibit is mounted inside an inflatable rotating exhibit having a transparent inflatable body and a rotating body and has a rotating assembly and a reverse-rotation preventer.     • A rotary direction regulating device for a synchronous electric motor. A plate is disposed on the rotor shaft which rotates with the rotor. A stopper is supported for axial movement in an eccentric axial hole through the plate. At opposite axial sides of the stopper, respective generally parallel, inclined cam surfaces move the stopper axially as the rotor rotates. The stopper is guided by the inclined surfaces to move axially and to permit the rotor and the regulating plate to rotate in the correct direction of rotation. One of the cam surfaces has a sharply inclined stopper wall oriented generally parallel to the axis of the rotor and the opposite cam surface shifts the stopper to abut the stopper wall upon reverse rotation of the rotor and the plate. That abutment prevents rotor reverse rotation. The stopper is supported for swinging with respect to the plate in its axial motion. The cooperating cam surfaces are opposite each other and are in cam plates disposed at opposite sides of the stopper.
