摘要： A programmable resistor can provide discrete logarithmic (linear-in-dB) gain control. It can include multiple like programmable resistor subnetworks or cells, such as can be connected in parallel, such as according to a decoding scheme. The subnetworks can be configured to cover a subrange such as [0 dB, −6 dB) relative to the maximum resistance value. Coarse increments of −6 dB can be further added to this range by successively doubling the number of subnetworks that are connected in parallel. An additional decoder help ensure a linear control curve, free of dead zones or other nonlinearities. The programmable resistor can be suitable for use in such circuits as programmable-gain amplifiers, filters, or more complex networks, such as where the resistance can be programmed as a function of a digital code. An example including a tuning circuit for a variable gain active filter is described.

摘要： According to one embodiment, a compact low-power receiver comprises first and second analog circuits connected by a digitally controlled interface circuit. The first analog circuit has a first direct-current (DC) offset and a first common mode voltage at an output, and the second analog circuit has a second DC offset and a second common mode voltage at an input. The digitally controlled interface circuit connects the output to the input, and is configured to match the first and second DC offsets and to match the first and second common mode voltages. In one embodiment, the first analog circuit is a variable gain control transimpedance amplifier (TIA) implemented using a current mode buffer, the second analog circuit is a second-order adjustable low-pass filter, whereby a three-pole adjustable low-pass filter in the compact low-power receiver is effectively produced.

The apparatus may provide filtering, duplexing and other radio frequency signal processing functions. A tunable duplexer may be implemented using a vector inductor and tunable capacitor array with frequency dependent impedance transformers.

摘要： A programmable-current transmit continuous-time filter (TX-CTF) system can be included in a radio frequency (RF) transmitter. The input of the TX-CTF can receive a baseband transmission signal, and the output of the TX-CTF can be provided to an upconversion mixer for conversion to RF for transmission. The TX-CTF includes amplifier circuitry and passive circuitry that together define the filter parameters. The TX-CTF further includes programmable current circuitry that provides a programmable bias current to the amplifier circuitry. The TX-CTF system also includes control logic that receives one or more transmitter control signals and, in response, generates signals that control the bias current provided to the TX-CTF.
