    • There is disclosed an apparatus (10) for transmitting a communication signal across one or more pre-existing frequency channels or bands that carry a transmission signal. The apparatus comprises a memory for storing at least one pre-existing frequency channel or band together with information relating to a strength of the transmission signal carried by the at least one pre-existing frequency channel or band. A controller (24) is configured to generate a communication signal to be transmitted across at least one of the pre-existing frequency channels or bands at a strength sufficient to over-broadcast the transmission signal carried by said pre-existing channel or band. A mixer (26) is configured to receive each of the communication signals generated by the controller (24) and to combine said communication signals into a combined mixed communication signal (15). A transmitter (16) for transmitting the combined mixed communication signal (15) to be transmitted across the at least one pre-existing frequency channels or bands in replacement of, or in addition to, the transmission signal carried by the at least one pre-existing frequency channel.

    • An exemplary object is to provide a signal processing circuit, a wireless communication device, and a signal processing method for reducing crosstalk of an adjacent interfering signal in a desired signal. A signal processing circuit 3 according to the present invention includes a power acquisition unit 4 that receives multiple radio signals transmitted with different frequency bands and acquires power intensities of the received radio signals; and a frequency selection unit 5 that selects, from among frequency bands used for radio signals having the power intensity lower than a predetermined power intensity, a frequency band having a relatively low power intensity in a frequency band near the frequency bands as each frequency band in which communication is executed.

    • An adaptive multi-channel (AMC) modem that can receive one or multiple spread spectrum signals simultaneously includes an adjustable filter, a ΔΣ ADC, and a digital processor. The adjustable filter filters an input signal with an adjustable bandwidth and provides an output signal comprised of a selected number of spread spectrum signals. The ΔΣ ADC digitizes the output signal and provides data samples. The sampling rate and/or the reference voltage of the ΔΣ ADC may be varied to obtain the desired performance. The digital processor processes the data samples for each spread spectrum signal to recover data sent in that signal. A controller ascertains the operating conditions (e.g., the desired signal level, the undesired signal level, and so on) and selects the number of spread spectrum signals to receive based on the operating conditions, user requirements, and possibly other factors.
