摘要： A MIMO demodulating apparatus includes: a phase difference corrector that compensates for a phase shift by utilizing the phase difference between received signals to output phase corrected signals; an interference compensator that receives the phase corrected signals as input and, by means of adaptive control, performs elimination of interference and separation and extraction of a desired signal; a phase noise compensator to compensate for phase error remaining in the desired signal; a signal determiner that determines transmitted data from the output signal of the phase noise compensator to output the transmitted data and outputs an error signal; and an error signal phase rotator that subjects the error signal to a phase rotating process in accordance with the phase error compensation amount to perform adaptive control.

The apparatus may include a processor and a control channel assignment module that is operable on the processor to determine timing for an acknowledgment message for responding to data transmitted in an uplink communication, and to locate a control channel resource for an acknowledgment message to data transmitted via a non-backward-compatible component carrier, the acknowledgement message to be carried by a component carrier. In one example, wireless communication devices can encode an amount of data in accordance with information that at least some of the data will be transmitted as part of a non-orthogonal transmission. The wireless communication device may further transmit the encoded data, and the encoded data can be non-orthogonally combined as part of a non-orthogonal transmission. In another example, wireless communication devices can receive a wireless transmission including a plurality of data streams non-orthogonally combined together. The wireless communication device may decode at least one of the data streams. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

Configurations for multimode user equipment (UE) and multimode base stations are also described herein, including configurations for implementing a Multiple Radio Access Technology (Multi-RAT) aggregation function to offload data from a WWAN to a WLAN and transmit the data via the WLAN using a Layer 2 transport.

The calculation unit calculates a weighting matrix for use in channel estimation of an interfering cell. The adjustment unit adjusts values of respective components of the weighting matrix calculated by the calculation unit so that out of the respective components, diagonal components are smaller than components other than the diagonal components. The estimation unit suppresses a noise component included in a value of the channel estimation by using the weighting matrix whose respective component values were adjusted by the adjustment unit so as to perform the channel estimation of the interfering cell. The measurement unit cancels a signal of the interfering cell from a received signal based on a result of the channel estimation and measures a reception quality of a measurement target cell with respect to the received signal.

A projection space generator performs projection operations to create a matched projection space and first and second mismatched projection spaces such that each mismatched projection space is orthogonal or nearly orthogonal to the matched projection space. A mitigator engine receives the matched and first mismatched projection spaces and generates a covariance matrix from the first mismatched projection space and an image space from the covariance matrix and the matched projection space. A second mismatched projection space that is mismatched to both the matched and first mismatched projection spaces is provided to a clutter characterization engine that generates samples from the second mismatched projection space and the covariance matrix. The adaptive parameter is generated from the samples and is used as an input to a threshold adjuster in a target detector.
