摘要： Parallel optical transponders with an optical comb source, and methods of using the same, are provided. The optical comb source can provide multiple optical carriers from a single source. The multiple optical carriers can be phase-aligned, which can allow joint processing of a received signal. The multiple optical carriers can also allow for modulating a demultiplexed data signal using multiple modulators rather than modulating the entire data signal using a single modulator.

摘要： An optical network communication system includes an optical hub, an optical distribution center, at least one fiber segment, and at least two end users. The optical hub includes an intelligent configuration unit configured to monitor and multiplex at least two different optical signals into a single multiplexed heterogeneous signal. The optical distribution center is configured to individually separate the at least two different optical signals from the multiplexed heterogeneous signal. The at least one fiber segment connects the optical hub and the optical distribution center, and is configured to receive the multiplexed heterogeneous signal from the optical hub and distribute the multiplexed heterogeneous signal to the optical distribution center. The at least two end users each include a downstream receiver configured to receive one of the respective separated optical signals from the optical distribution center.

摘要： A Time Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network (TWDM-PON) system and a communication link method thereof are provided. The communication link method is a method whereby an Optical Network Unit (ONU) which has established communication link to one Optical Line Terminal (OLT) establishes communication link to a different OLT. The ONU receives a wavelength change instruction to change a wavelength thereof to an operating wavelength assigned to the different OLT, and change the wavelength in response to the wavelength change instruction to synchronize to a downstream signal of the operating signal. In addition, the ONU receives an upstream discovery grant signal from the different OLT, and transmits an acknowledgement message to notify the receipt of the upstream discovery grant signal, so that the ONU establishes communication link to the different OLT.

摘要： A system, method, and optical switch for communicating timing. A determination is made whether one of a number of data streams are available. Packets are received at a remote node in response to determining one of the number of data streams is available. A timing characteristic of the at least one of the packets is associated with a tick of a reference clock. The tick of the reference clock is extracted utilizing the timing characteristic of the at least one of the packets. A secondary clock is disciplined with the reference clock by adjusting the secondary clock based on a difference between times measured by the reference clock and the secondary clock to generate a clock signal. The clock signal is communicated to one or more interfaces for distributing.
