摘要： The present application discloses a method in which a base station transmits a reference signal sequence in a wireless communication system. In detail, the method comprises the steps of: generating a pseudo-random sequence using a first m-sequence and a second m-sequence; generating the reference signal sequence using the pseudo-random sequence; and transmitting the reference signal to a mobile station via antenna ports different from one another. The second m-sequence has an initial value containing parameters for discriminating reference signal sequences among users.

摘要： A method and system are provided for scheduling data transmission in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system. The MIMO system may comprise at least one MIMO transmitter and at least one MIMO receiver. Feedback from one or more receivers may be used by a transmitter to improve quality, capacity, and scheduling in MIMO communication systems. The method may include generating or receiving information pertaining to a MIMO channel metric and information pertaining to a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) in respect of a transmitted signal; and sending a next transmission to a receiver using a MIMO mode selected in accordance with the information pertaining to the MIMO channel metric, and an adaptive coding and modulation selected in accordance with the information pertaining to the CQI.

摘要： Although orthonormal space-time coding matrices provide for optimal communication system performance in that associated correlation matrices include no non-zero off-diagonal elements, unity code rate orthonormal coding matrices are difficult to identify for arbitrary communication network equipment. According to embodiments of the present invention, non-orthonormal space-time coding matrices, for which associated correlation matrices include non-zero off-diagonal elements, are used to encode data symbols. The non-orthonormal space-time coding matrices are more easily determined, and undesirable effects of the non-zero off-diagonal components are reduced by selecting a coding matrix from among a number of such matrices. For example, a particular space-time coding matrix may be selected from a number of generated space-time coding matrices based on a number of non-zero off-diagonal elements or a power of a trace of the associated correlation matrices.

When the set of training fields consist of four training fields, each training field in the set of training fields is mapped to four space-time streams according to a first space-time stream mapping matrix. When the set of training fields consists of six training fields, each training field in the set of training fields is mapped to six space-time streams according to a second space-time stream mapping matrix, wherein the first space-time stream mapping matrix is not a submatrix of the second space-time stream mapping matrix. A data portion of the data unit is generated so that a receiver device can receive the data portion via a corresponding number of space-time streams using channel information derived from the set of training fields.

The precoding information related to the subcarriers within a constrained bandwidth provides feedback about the forward link channel properties relative to different subbands and may be fed back on a channel associated with the bandwidth.

摘要： An adaptable orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing system (OFDM) that uses a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) to having OFDM signals transmitted either in accordance with time diversity to reducing signal fading or in accordance with spatial diversity to increase the data rate. Sub-carriers are classified for spatial diversity transmission or for time diversity transmission based on the result of a comparison between threshold values and at least one of three criteria. The criteria includes a calculation of a smallest eigen value of a frequency channel response matrix and a smallest element of a diagonal of the matrix and a ratio of the largest and smallest eigen values of the matrix.
