摘要： A method of statistical multiplexing with one of Layer 0 Flexible Grid optical spectrum and Layer 1 Time Division Multiplexed (TDM) bandwidth in a multi-layer network includes obtaining a sampling of bandwidth usage over time on ports and links in the multi-layer network for one of Layer 0 and Layer 1 traffic using a plurality of statistical parameters, wherein the plurality of statistical parameters are defined for the one of Layer 0 and Layer 1 traffic; monitoring the plurality of statistical parameters; and triggering based on the monitoring one of i) adjustments to the one of Layer 0 and Layer 1 traffic and ii) adjustments to routing parameters on the links for new traffic, wherein the triggering is one of through a control plane and a Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller.

A network node checks source/destination information of the transport layer and/or a source/destination information of the network layer of a received packet, and if the checked information satisfies a prescribed condition, determines the packet to be a trigger. Then, the network node instructs another node capable of initiating a set-up operation, which may be the network node itself, to initiate the set-up of the cut-through connection for traffic corresponding to the trigger packet.

The signaling message indicates a first identifier that represents a connection through the first communication network to the second communication network. 摘要： A method is described for sending frames of data from at least two sending nodes via one or more forwarding nodes to one receiving node in an ATM network. Each frame of data is partitioned into cells and includes a VPI field and a VCI field. The sending nodes include a first label into the VPI field of each of the cells representing an identification of the routing of the cell. Furthermore, the sending nodes include a second label into the VCI field of each of the cells representing an identification of the source of the cell. The forwarding node swaps the first and the second label according to a swapping table. With respect to the second label, the forwarding node enters the swapping table in the column of the output labels and reads the corresponding input label.

摘要： This invention provides a network management equipment and a packet switching equipment which eliminate a connection setup delay time, reduce a delay and a delay variation involved in data transfer, and effectively perform connectionless data flow processing in a large data network. The network is divided into a connection-oriented core network and a plurality of connectionless access networks connected to the core network where a plurality of connections (called permanent virtual route (PVR)) are set up among a plurality of edge nodes. The network management equipment selects one route from a plurality of PVRs for connectionless data flow received from one of the access networks and transfers data along the PVR.
