One embodiment includes: establishing a real time communication connection between a first entity and a second entity via a communication reference embedded in an advertisement that is presented on behalf of the second entity; billing the second entity for the advertisement in response to the communication connection being established via the communication reference; monitoring the communication connection between the first entity and the second entity to detect a pre-defined indication; and charging the first entity, on behalf of the second entity, for communications with the second entity over the communication connection in response to a detected occurrence of the pre-defined indication.

摘要： Telephone numbering comprising an NPA code associated with an NXX code that is associated with a rate center identifier is received at a dial plan instruction writer. Local call data relative to a home rate center is also received. The local call data determine whether a call originating in the home rate center is charged as local call, a toll call, or a long distance call. Routing rules to be applied to a called telephone number originating from the home rate center are determined based on the telephone numbering data and the local call data. Instructions executable by the telephone switch that implement the routing rules are generated.

The setup server 1 includes a setup unit 21 which sets advertisement-related CAT media in a signal addressed to the calling terminal 2 during a call between the calling terminal 2 and the called terminal 3 and a measurement unit 22 which measures a start time and an end time of the setting of the CAT media in the signal addressed to the calling terminal 2. The calling terminal 2 includes a play unit which plays the CAT media. The charging server 4 includes a charge unit which charges the calling terminal 2 on the basis of the measured times.

摘要： A method for the location-dependent and/or distance-dependent charging of telecommunication services in a mobile communication network, where the network includes several radio cells, each of which covers a certain service area and is supplied with radio signals by at least one associated base transceiver station. An individual, guaranteed subscriber area describing an area around a predefined geographical location is allocated to a subscriber. An actual subscriber area is formed with which all radio cells or parts of radio cells whose service area overlaps with the guaranteed subscriber area are associated. Telecommunication services used are charged at a special rate when the subscriber is located in the actual subscriber area.

摘要： Utilization of resources used to provide a service, and/or costs associated with providing system resources for a service, are tracked in a system where the available resources vary depending on a variety of conditions including resource utilization by other users. The methods are well suited for systems such as mobile communications systems, where the amount of resources and/or costs to a system of providing a service are dynamic and can change on a relatively rapid time scale. Resource unitization is tracked on a per subscriber basis. Service charges can be determined as a function of both the amount of resources consumed and the amount of data delivered, with the amount of resources being used to deliver a fixed amount of data units varying as a function of environmental and/or other conditions. Service charges are sometimes determined as a function of the impact of providing the service to a first user on other system users.

Details of call items for a customer are compiled and a plurality of call types (73, 75, 77) are defined. Each call item is identified as belonging to one of these call types and a notional charge is calculated for each item. Notional charges for each item are accumulated and call categories are defined, wherein at least one of said call categories has a discount rate associated therewith. Accumulated call type values are then mapped onto category accumulators in response to customer reference data.
