摘要： A multi-function apparatus includes a body, an image reading unit, a document cover and a locking member. The image reading unit is movable between a closed position and an opened position. The document cover is movable between a closed position and an opened position. The locking member is movable to a first position and a second position and includes a first engagement portion and a second engagement portion. In response to a movement of the document cover to the opened position, the locking member moves to the first position and locks the image reading unit to the closed position. In response to a movement of the image reading unit to the opened position, the locking member moves to the second position and locks the document cover to the closed position.

摘要： An image-reading device is provided that includes a reading component configured to read a document, a document holding portion, a detector detecting a position of the document holding portion, a power supply device that supplies power to the reading component, and a power supply control device that controls power supplied by the power supply device to the reading component. The power supply control device determines whether a change in the position of the document holding portion has occurred based on the position of the document holding portion detected by the detector. When a change in position is detected and the image reading device is not performing document reading, the power supplied to the reading component is reduced. If a change in position is detected while the image reading device is performing document reading, the power supplied to the reading component is maintained.

摘要： A multi-mode scanner comprises a first body, a second body and a scanning module. The first body connected to the second body has connected first and second sides. A passageway accommodating a first portion of a bent document is formed between the first and second bodies. A second portion of the bent document is connected to the first portion of the bent document and supported by a second side of the first body. The first and second bodies are configured such that a weight of the bent document makes the second portion be in flat surface contact with the second side, or makes the first portion be in flat surface contact with first side. The scanning module disposed in one or both of the first and second bodies performs an image scan operation on the first portion of the bent document in the passageway to obtain an image signal.
