The circuitry is configured to control a reading device to detect, as a first detection result, an outer shape of a processing subject and a position of an image pattern on the processing subject; control the reading device to detect, as a second detection result, a mark arranged on a position reference member, the mark corresponding to a predetermined position in the reading device; and detect a first correction value of the reading device and a second correction value of the reading device corrected by the first correction value on basis of the second detection result and reflect the first correction value and the second correction value to the first detection result to correct a processing position in the processing subject.

摘要： An image scanning device includes a platen, an image scanning unit that scans at a single time documents placed on the platen and generates pieces of image data, and an image data processing unit that performs processing of the pieces of image data. When the image scanning unit generates pieces of first image data by scanning first surfaces of the documents, each of which is placed in one of predetermined areas on the platen, and generates pieces of second image data by scanning surfaces opposite to the first surfaces of the documents, each of which is turned over and placed again in the one of the predetermined areas, the image data processing unit associates one of the pieces of the first image data with a corresponding one of the pieces of the second image data for each of the predetermined areas, as image data of the front and back surfaces.

Light emitted from a light emission unit based on a first measurement condition is reflected from an image bearing member, and first information is generated based on a measurement result of the image bearing member. Light is emitted based on the first measurement condition when a first measurement image is measured, and an image forming condition is generated based on a measurement result of the first measurement image and the first information. Light is emitted based on the second measurement condition when a second measurement image is measured, and the image forming condition is generated based on a measurement result of the second measurement image and the second information.

The control unit is configured to execute a first preprocessing and a second preprocessing. The first preprocessing includes: acquiring first black data from one line worth of image data; acquiring white data; calculating white-black difference data; acquiring first light gray data; and calculating first light gray-black difference data. The second processing includes: acquiring second black data from the one line worth of the image data; acquiring second light gray data; calculating second light gray-black difference data; calculating a change ratio by dividing the second light gray-black difference data by the first light gray-black difference data; and calculating calibration data by multiplying the white-black difference data by the change ratio. Shading of the image data is calibrated in response to the calibration data.

摘要： A method for determining a media size of a target scanned on the platen of the flatbed scanner using a fiducial placed on a backer of the flatbed scanner at a predetermined location. The fiducial is comprised of a plurality of objects, either placed in a predetermined pattern or randomly within a fiducial frame. A target is placed on the platen of the flatbed scanner and scanned along with the backer. The scanned image data of the target and backer is searched for the fiducial image. When the fiducial image is found, the media is selected to be of a first target type of a first media size, and, when the fiducial is not found the target is selected to be of a second target type of a second media size greater than the first media size.

摘要： An image processing apparatus 1 obtains displacement amounts of patterns formed on front and back sides of a recording sheet respectively, and performs correction of an image formation position based on the displacement amounts. The image processing apparatus 1 calculates the lengths of the sides of each of the front and back sides of a recording sheet by detecting the intersection points of the surrounding edges of the recording sheet with reference to the image data of the each of the front and back sides. A magnification error is calculated based on the lengths of the sides corresponding between the front and back sides. A correction amount is then calculated based on the calculated magnification error in order to make the lengths of each side match each other. Displacement amounts of the positions of the patterns is obtained after correction based on the correction amount.
