摘要： Disclosed are systems and methods for behavioral modeling based on content genre and utilizing results for content recommendation and other network handling and storage of the content. Viewing events with respect to a content item are aggregated. An affinity is calculated based on the viewing events. Additional viewing events occurring during the delivery of the content item and associated with other content items are also selected. A sampling bonus is added to the affinity if these additional viewing events have a duration below a threshold and the other content items share a same genre as the content item.

A condition related to the display of an overlay on top of video for a television channel may be defined for each of a plurality of television channels. A default set of information types for an interactive television overlay (e.g., a FLIP overlay, a BROWSE overlay, etc.) may be defined for the plurality of television channels. When the overlay is displayed on top of video for a given television channel of the plurality of television channels, the overlay may include information of the default set of information types. One or more television channels of the plurality of television channels may be identified as channels for which the default set of information types does not apply (e.g., channels for which the overlay is not displayed or for which a custom set of information types is defined).

摘要： The present disclosure relates to electronic devices, processes and systems for configuration of a display device. In one embodiment, a method for configuring operation of a display device includes receiving a configuration change from a control device, wherein the configuration change includes one or more changes for presentation of a overlay element for the display device and configuring settings for presentation of a overlay element, wherein the configuration change corresponds to a release of one or more features previously included and inaccessible to settings for presentation of the overlay element by the display device. The method also includes presenting an overlay element based on the configuring, wherein the overlay element is presented by the display device as an overlay to displayed image content. Overlay elements can include a navigation bar, an animation, a poster display, sticker display, and an application home screen.

The electronic programming guide data, interactive programming guide data or the like for one or more channels that are unique between the plurality of service providers are checked against transmitting station identifier data or system information protocol data to identify the specific service provider that the television set is connected to. In response to the determination, the multimedia device identifies a list of channels likely to be the channel to which the user is attempting to tune. The multimedia device displays a channel tuning banner that allows the user to select a channel from the list, thereby causing the multimedia device to tune to the selected channel. In another context, users want to locate scheduling information for a particular channel within an electronic program guide (EPG). Thus, a multimedia device receives search criteria from a user and uses the search criteria to dynamically filter the EPG while the user is interacting with the EPG. As a result, the user is presented with a reduced number of EPG entries to look through in order to find relevant information.

A series is provided to a user device, the series having a plurality of sequential seasons, and each season having a plurality of episodes. A request for recording the series is received from the user. In response, a last episode of the series watched by the user is identified. A relevant season of the plurality of seasons is then determined, such that the relevant season precedes another season of the plurality of seasons and includes the last episode watched by the user. Then, episodes of the relevant season that follow the last episode watched by the user are scheduled for recording, such that episodes of a season that precedes the relevant season are not scheduled for recording.
