摘要： An apparatus for hot dip coating metal strip is disclosed having a dip bath vessel (4), a snout (6) which opens into the dip bath vessel for introducing a metal strip (1) which is heated in a continuous furnace into the dip bath, and a deflecting roller (7) which is arranged in the dip bath vessel for deflecting the metal strip (1) which enters into the dip bath in a direction which points out of the dip bath. The snout (6) is provided with a shaft-shaped snout extension piece (6.1) for increasing the snout dipping depth, the internal width of the snout extension piece (6.1) tapering toward its outlet opening (6.15) at least over a part length of said snout extension piece (6.1). As a result, an increase or maximization of the eddy flow in the molten metal at or close to the metal strip (1) and therefore improved homogenization of the molten metal in the region of the strip is achieved, as a result of which slag-induced surface defects on the surface of the coated metal strip (1) can be avoided.

The dropping means 8 is located for the electric wire above the container. A desired quantity of varnish is dropped from the dropping means 8 toward the outer surface of the electric wire 1 through a flow rate adjusting portion. The flow rate of the varnish is adjusted by the flow rate adjusting portion 9.

The apparatus has a coating material applicator to deliver a flowable material, an air applicator to supply compressed air, a mixer to mix the flowable material and compressed air, a delivery means to spray the mixed flowable material and air onto a filament, and a coating chamber through which the filament passes. The chamber has a material collector and a coating die, and a sealing attachment with an exit hole is located beneath the coating chamber. The filament is sprayed before it travels into the material collector.

The method involves solution casting a film atop a liquid bath and radially advancing the pre-cast film to a central point where the fiber to be coated is drawn through the film so that a uniform coating is applied about the entire circumference of the fiber. The polymeric film is maintained in a swollen state to ease processing and promote adhesion.

摘要： Apparatus for applying liquid to a running yarn in a textile machine comprises a hollow body providing a manifold for the liquid and an elongate tube extending horizontally across the manifold. The tube is retained in a bore in the body by a yarn guide which is detachably secured to the body and the bore in the tube communicates with a groove yarn path provided by the yarn guide via a bore in the yarn guide of larger diameter than the bore in the tube. The constant supply of liquid to the yarn is provided by the controlled flow of liquid along the tube whose length is at least 100 times the diameter of the bore therein. A height adjustable weir in a liquid supply tank supplies liquid to the manifold at a predetermined pressure. The yarn path has a plurality of yarn contact points to ensure complete application of liquid by the yarn.
