    • The described embodiments relate to a locking mechanism for securing a housing of a computing device. More specifically, the disclosed embodiments are configured to both secure the housing of the computing device closed and to provide a means for securing the desktop computing device to a stationary object such as a desk. The locking mechanism can be two separable locking bodies configured to be received by separate openings in a housing of the computing device. Once the separate openings receive both locking bodies, a locking device can engage both pieces of the locking mechanism to lock both pieces to each other and to the housing.

    • A security device for hindering the unauthorized opening of safes includes first and second, retractably cooperable longitudinal members. First and second lateral members are provided at respective outer ends of the longitudinal members. A locking mechanism locks the first longitudinal member to the second longitudinal member. A tension spring retractably biases the second longitudinal member into the first longitudinal member. The locking mechanism can include a clamping member swivellably attached to the first longitudinal member and containing a pawl member, while the second longitudinal member includes a sawtoothed element. The clamping member can then be swiveled, so as to push the second longitudinal member further into the first longitudinal member. A vernier arrangement may be included to further tighten the lateral members against the walls of the safe. The device provides, firstly, a visible deterrent and, secondly, a physical barrier to would-be intruders.

    • A locking device includes a shaft, a locking head joined to the shaft, and a lock body having a lock opening for receiving a locking end of the shaft. A latch member is disposed within the lock body and includes a shaft aperture for receiving the locking end of the shaft therethrough. The shaft aperture includes an edge portion spring biased radially inward of the lock opening to engage the recessed portion with the edge portion when the locking end of the shaft is disposed in the lock opening. A locking member is disposed within the lock body. Rotation of the locking member from a locked condition to an unlocked condition moves the edge portion of the shaft aperture out of engagement with the recessed portion of the shaft to permit withdrawal of the shaft from the lock opening.

The deadbolt locking devices can accommodate various configurations of door hardware without sacrificing convenience of use and without sacrificing confidence in its correct placement. Various configurations of door hardware can include the position of the deadbolt knob in relation to the door knob, the angular position of the handle of the deadbolt when it is in the locked position, whether the door is hinged on the left or right side and whether the deadbolt knob turns clockwise or counter-clockwise to lock the door.

    • A blocking apparatus is disclosed for selectively blocking movement of a deadbolt actuation lever on a door. The apparatus includes a base mounting plate for mounting on the door, the base mounting plate including an engaging portion for positioning against the inside surface of the door and a deadbolt receiving portion for positioning against the edge surface of the door. The apparatus also includes a mounting shaft mounted on and extending from the engaging portion and a blocking member mounted on the mounting shaft and movable between a block position and an unblocked position. The block position is characterized by the blocking member blocking movement of the deadbolt actuation lever from the locked orientation to the unlocked orientation. The unblocked position of the blocking member is characterized by the deadbolt actuation lever being free to move without interference by the blocking member.

    • A high security lock core structure includes a case, a core, multiple side bead units and multiple bead units. The case includes side holes for receiving the side bead units.
