    • A row unit for an agricultural implement includes a closing disc configured to move soil into a trench. The row unit includes a first arm having a first end coupled to a center portion of a coupling and a second end configured to rotatably couple to a support structure of the row unit. A second arm includes a first end coupled to an outer portion of the coupling and a second end configured to rotatably couple to the support structure. The outer portion of the coupling is rotatable relative to the center portion, and rotation of the outer portion relative to the center portion drives a rotational axis of the closing disc to revolve about a longitudinal axis of the center portion to enable the closing disc to maintain a desired toe angle relative or a desired camber angle as the row unit travels across a field.

    • A soil working apparatus comprises a farm implement including: a first structure moveable above a soil surface along a travel direction; and a plurality of housings, each supporting at least one rotary hoe for forming a furrow in the soil along the travel direction. The housing has a mounting structure for pivotally mounting to the first structure, a radially extending support member having a rotary hoe at the distal end thereof. The rotary hoe mounting structure has a pivot member extending in a plane at right angles to the shaft and the rotary hoe is pivotally mounted to the pivot member for limited composite angular movement relative to a vertical plane and the direction of travel. The rotary hoe may have a star shape including: a central hub, a plurality of spaced apart, radially extending prongs extending from the hub in a common plane, and the prongs each being independently mounted to the hub but interlocked with each other when mounted on the hub.

    • A topsoil separating and spreading apparatus includes a grate and rotor assembly that can be pivotally mounted on the top of a standard loader bucket for operation. The spreader member includes an arcuate grate formed with slotted openings and a rotor rotatably mounted concentrically with the arcuate grate so that disks mounted on the rotor shaft will move adjacent to the arcuate grate to push topsoil through the grate openings. The spreader member is pivotally movable between opened and closed positions and is powered by the prime mover. The opening of the spreader member allows a supply of topsoil to be loaded into the bucket loader, after which the spreader member can be closed against the bucket to force topsoil to be discharged therefrom through the grate openings. The rotor breaks up clumps within the bucket, while the grate prevents the discharge of non-frangible debris from the supply of topsoil.

    • A tillage implement has gang assemblies of rotatable tillage tools that can be angle-adjusted from the seat of the towing tractor using hydraulic actuators. The tillage tools may comprise generally flat, wavy coulter blades or the like so that the machine may be set up for vertical tillage with the coulters aligned at a zero degree angle with the path of travel of the implement or for residue management operations with the coulters maintained at an oblique angle of up to ten degrees relative to the path of travel. A six degree angle is preferred for the residue management position. A master-slave hydraulic flow arrangement for the actuators assures simultaneous actuation, while mechanical synchronizing apparatus between the two front gang assemblies on the center frame section of the machine assures synchronized movement of those assemblies. Mechanical motion-transmitting mechanism transmits the hydraulically powered adjusting movement of the front gang assemblies to the rear gang assemblies.
