摘要： The storage system includes multiple cabinets within an enclosure mounted in a bed of a truck, such as a pickup truck bed. The cabinets each include rear walls which are hinged together at rear corners thereof to allow the cabinets to pivot relative to each other. An innermost one of a series of cabinets is slidably mounted within the enclosure so that it can slide into and out of the enclosure along with the other cabinets hinged thereto. Each cabinet has doors which can be selectively opened to allow for access into an interior of the cabinets. The cabinets have a storage position where they are contained within the enclosure and a deployed position where they are slid out of the enclosure and pivoted to provide easy access to contents of the cabinets outside of the truck bed.

The roller and guide system includes a longitudinally extending axial guide defining a first slot in a floor and a drive rail parallel thereto defining a second slot in the floor. The axial guide includes a roller arrangement adapted to engage a downwardly extending guide member coupled to the carriage of the storage units. The engagement of the roller arrangement and guide member serves as a guide for the storage units as the storage units are moved axially along the axial guide and drive rail. Further, the present invention limits the width of the first and second slots to a very narrow width, e.g. less than one half inch, thereby easily permitting disabled individuals to freely travel across a floor in which the roller and guide system is mounted. The roller and guide system may include an anti-tip assembly to prevent the tipping of the storage units as the storage units are moved along the axial guide and drive rail.

摘要： A mobile storage system includes movable storage units that can be positioned to selectively form an aisle between adjacent storage units. The storage units define a maximum aisle space that forms a single aisle between an adjacent pair of storage units, or a number of aisles between several adjacent pairs of storage units by distributing the maximum aisle space between at least two aisles. A control arrangement controls the position of the storage units, in response to user commands, so as to form the aisles. The control arrangement may be configured such that, when a pair of aisles are present between two pairs of storage units, one of the aisles is closed based on certain criteria when a command to open a different aisle is initiated. The criteria may be user defined, or may be a characteristic such as the frequency of use of the aisles such that the more frequently used aisle remains open and the less frequently used aisle is closed.
