    • A dental appliance removal tool is provided with one or more booster tubes each having a pressure-actuated expandable distal portion or cushion which, when inserted between a gum line and an implant-supported denture and connected to a supply of pressured fluid, expands radially to increase the circumference of the cushion and apply pressure to the gum line and denture to loosen or release the denture from an implant or the like. The tool may have an actuation mechanism such as a lever arm which applies pressure to a fluid chamber in communication with the booster tube, causing the cushion to expand, or a manually operated fluid pump or other pressurized fluid supply may be connected to the booster tube or multiple booster tubes to expand the cushion or cushions.

    • A device for inserting a threaded dental implant (I) in a patients jawbone as well as for loosening and removing a threaded dental implant (I) mounted and possibly osseointegrated in the alveolus jaw-bone of a patient. An ultrasonic vibration actuator, e.g. a piezoelectric transducer, generates ultrasonic vibrations with a frequency within the range 20-50 kHz, preferably within 24-36 kHz, and preferably in a direction around the longitudinal axis of the dental implant (I). The actuator, being a handpiece (H) structurally connected with a handpiece head (HD). A fitting-means (F), e.g. a socket, is positioned in the head (HD) of the handpiece (H), the head (HD) being arranged for entering the patient's mouth. The fitting-means (F) is shaped to provide a rigid engagement directly with the dental implant (II, I2) or indirectly by an adaptor (AD1, AD2) being rigidly tightened on top of the dental implant (II, I2) platform. The fitting-means (F) thus transmits ultrasonic vibrations to the dental implant (II, I2) for either inserting a dental implant or alternatively loosening the dental implant from the jaw bone.

    • A dental post removal device having a hollow tubular structure having a sidewall and distal and proximal open ends, an engaging feature positioned on insides of the sidewalls, and a fulcrum positioned on the hollow tubular structure adapted for pulling the hollow tubular structure and a dental post captured therein. The engaging features can be a series of openings formed through the sidewall of the hollow tubular structure, and/or the inner wall surfaces of the sidewall that is one of at least scored, textured, dimpled, coated with a high adhesion material or other type of surface preparation chemical, and/or internally threaded. The tubular structure is of generally constant outside diameter. The inner walls can either be of constant inner diameter, or can have an inner diameter that narrows from the distal end to the proximal end either continuously, or in discrete steps of increasingly smaller diameter.

    • A dental crown remover has forceps with opposing beaks. Each of the beaks has a flattened base and a notch located at the base. The faces of the notch form an angle of about 90 degrees to one another, and the lower face of the notch intersects the base at about a 50-degree angle. The notch is intersected by a longitudinal cavity having a width less than that of the beak. This structure defines two sharp points where the longitudinal cavity intersects the base of the beak and the lower face, and two stops where the longitudinal cavity intersects the upper face of the notch. When the beaks of the forceps are moved toward closure, the points of each beak are capable of penetrating and holding a crown, providing stable support at least at four points, which support allows twisting and rocking motion to be applied to break the tooth-to-cement bond holding the crown in place.
