摘要： A prosthetic implant, such as a tissue expander, includes a silicone shell having an anterior wall and a posterior wall, and a needle stop patch secured over an inner surface of the posterior wall of the silicone shell. The needle stop patch has two or more layers of a textile material that are stacked atop one another. The textile material is flexible and includes woven threads or fiber. A bonding material bonds together the two or more layers of the textile material that are stacked atop one another. The outer edges of the respective layers are feathered for minimizing step effects between adjacent ones of the layers. A self-sealing membrane covers the anterior wall of the silicone shell. The dernier level of the textile layers increases between top and bottom layers for progressively increasing resistance tom a needle passing through the needle stop patch.

摘要： A tissue expander includes a shell having an anterior wall with superior and inferior zones, and one or more drainage openings formed in the inferior zone. A fill port assembly is located within the superior zone, and a drain port assembly is located within the inferior zone and is in fluid communication with the one or more drainage openings. The fill port assembly is isolated from the drain port assembly that is located within the inferior zone. The drain port assembly includes a drain cover having an elongated body, a central hub, one or more fluid reservoirs between the first and second ends of the elongated body, and an outer face that surrounds the fluid reservoirs. 摘要： An implantable tissue marker device is provided to be placed in a soft tissue site through a surgical incision. The device can include a bioabsorbable body in the form of a spiral and defining a spheroid shape for the device, the spiral having a longitudinal axis, and turns of the spiral being spaced apart from each other in a direction along the longitudinal axis. A plurality of markers can be disposed on the body, the markers being visualizable by a radiographic imaging device. The turns of the spiral are sufficiently spaced apart to form gaps that allow soft tissue to infiltrate between the turns and to allow flexibility in the device along the longitudinal axis in the manner of a spring.

摘要： Devices, systems, and methods for delivering prosthesis implants into surgically-created implant pockets in a subject and for preventing capsular contracture resulting from surgical insertion of prosthesis implants. The device may include a delivery member operable to wrap around the implant thereby forming a conforming cavity around the implant that conforms to the shape of the implant. The delivery member is also operable to propel the implant from the conforming cavity into the implant pocket in the subject upon the application of mechanical force to the delivery member. The device also includes a shielding member coupled with the delivery member. The shielding member is operable to shield the implant from at least a portion of the dissection tunnel connecting the incision to the implant pocket during delivery of the implant to the implant pocket. The device is capable of shielding the implant from microbial contamination, including contamination by the endogenous flora of the subject, during delivery of the implant into the surgically-created implant pocket.

摘要： A method of using at least one implantable mesh extension for repairing a tissue defect or reconstructing tissue, wherein the mesh extension is comprised of a mesh having a width and a length extending between a first end and a second end, includes passing the first end of the mesh extension through tissue adjacent to the tissue defect or tissue to be reconstructed at least once and then passing the first end of the mesh extension through a portion of the mesh. The mesh extension is then pulled to create a first self-locking stitch to anchor the mesh extension to the adjacent tissue so as to immediately resist high tension.
