    • An electrographic printer device is designed for printing web-shaped recording media (10) having different web widths in different operating modes, such as single-colored and multi-colored simplex printing, single-colored and multi-colored duplex printing and for simultaneously printing two recording medium webs in parallel operation. To this end, the units of the printer device such as intermediate carrier (11), transfer printing station (15) and fixing station (18) comprise a usable width of at least twice the web width of a narrow recording medium. The printer device further contains a deflection means (28) following the fixing station (18) and engageable as needed and having an allocated return channel to the transfer printing station (15) via which the recording medium (10) is turned and resupplied to the transfer printing station (15) in single-color or multi-color duplex mode.

    • An apparatus having a friction-feed and surface-driven roller mechanism for producing laminated labels from a strip of base-tape material and a strip of transparent overlay-tape material. The apparatus is readily mountable to and adapted for use with many different types of typewriters and printers without permanent modification thereto. One embodiment is adapted for use with a typewriter or printer having a rolling platen. Another embodiment is adapted for use with a printer having a fixed platen and sheet-feeding tractor mechanism. Yet another embodiment is adapted for use with a typewriter having a movable, rolling platen. In all embodiments, there is provided a roller mechanism having a frictionally surface-driven feed roller engaging either the typewriter platen or a separate drive roll for pulling the overlay-tape and base-tape material into and through the roller mechanism and pressing the adhesive surface of the overlay-tape material into contact with the base-tape material. In all embodiments, deformable drag discs are fixed on opposite sides of the base-tape material spool and locating and tensioning screws are attached to the base-tape material spool mounting assembly for both adjustably, laterally positioning the rotatably mounted base-tape material spool and adjustably contacting the deformable drag discs to apply tension against the base-tape material spool independent of the overlay-tape material spool in accordance with the required feeding and tracking controls of the base-tape material to the roller mechanism. The drag disks may be either insertable or integrally formed with said base-tape material spool.

    • The paper feeding mechanism in a printer has a paper feeding roller and a pressure roller cooperating with the paper feeding roller so as to feed a paper sandwiched therebetween for the printing operation of the paper, and the pressure roller is mounted on a resiliently energized swingable lever so that the pressure roller is releasably urged against the paper feeding roller for feeding the paper. The paper feeding mechanism further comprises a paper arresting member adapted to disengageably contact with and arrest the paper when actuated, an actuating lever coupled with swingable lever as well as the paper arresting member and a driving solenoid provided with a plunger actuated thereby and coupled with the actuating lever. The relative arrangement of the swingable lever and the paper arresting member with respect to the actuating lever is so determined that, when the latter is actuated by the solenoid through the plunger thereof, the swingable lever is urged so as to move the pressure roller apart from the paper feeding roller for inactivating the feeding of the paper while the paper arresting member is actuated so as to arrest the paper.
