    • The invention relates to a device for inserting inside tires of a vehicle so that it follows its course without stopping after a bursting. The device comprises a cluster of flexible bladders (1) which are made of rubber, have a diameter of one to several inches according to the use, are interconnected by a cord (2.1) with its distribution branches (2.2, 2.3) and an inflating stem (3). The air enters each bladder via the cord by means of a very sensitive mini-check valve (9). During inflation, the air contained inside the space of the tire is purged via a purging system (6, 7, 8). In one variant, the principle of the valves, cord and purge is retained, but there are fewer bladders and they have the shape of sections of the tire. Bladders that are resistant to depression can also be used with the same valves and purge but without a cord. The refilling ensues by an over inflation step followed by a reduction effected by the purge until the operating pressure is reached. Finally, one or several rings of multiple or single chambers can be used that are inflated to a pressure greater than the tire and mounted inside around the wheel.

    • The present inventions are a run-flat tire and a tire/wheel assembly in which the workability of the tire-to-rim fit has been improved while including a core-type run-flat support member. The tire/wheel assembly is formed by fitting a pneumatic tire into a wheel rim. In the tire/wheel assembly, the run-flat support member constituted of a circular shell and elastic rings is inserted into a cavity of the pneumatic tire, in which the circular shell has a support surface thereof extended toward the periphery of the tire and leg portions along each end of the support surface, and the elastic rings are attached to the leg portions of the circular shell. Meanwhile, stages extending in a tire circumferential direction are formed on the inner walls of a pair of right and left beads in the pneumatic tire, and the elastic rings are locked into the stages.

    • A tire safety system mounts on a vehicle wheel rim inside a pneumatic tire. A tire air pressure sensor produces a tire air pressure reading mounted inside the tire. An inflatable member forms a toroidal expandable internal safety structure. The inflatable member is mounted against the vehicle wheel rim. The chemicals container inside the inflatable member receives an electrical signal at an activation input. The chemicals container creates pressurized gas inside the inflatable member for inflation when a signal is received at the activation input. A circumferential radially expandable protective belt mounted around the inflatable member expands with inflatable member inflation to accommodate operation the tire when expanded. A computer receiving tire air pressure readings from the tire air pressure sensor sends a signal to the activation input upon a sudden change in tire air pressure.

    • The invention relates to a multistrip insert, usually comprising three strips side-by-side, for a pneumatic tire, said insert being composed at least in part of a closed cell resilient material constructed and dimensioned to fit ring-like about a wheel rim within the tire. The insert normally fills less than the whole internal cross-sectional volume of the tire but can support the tire against total collapse when deflated. In use, should the tire become deflated, the insert expands to fill or substantially so the internal volume of the tire due to the increase in temperature caused by the increased flexing of the tire and insert. The consequent return to or towards the normal operative tire shape results in the tire subsequently running at or near normal running temperature.

    • A pneumatic tire having a "run-flat" capability, is disclosed.
