摘要： A system for selectively disabling highway crossing equipment includes a timer for controlling a maximum out of service time for the highway crossing equipment, a switch for controlling disablement of the highway crossing equipment, and control circuitry responsive to the timer and the switch. The control circuitry disables the highway crossing equipment in response to an input received from the switch before the maximum out of service time has been reached and re-enables the highway crossing equipment in response to a subsequent input from the switch received before the maximum out of service time has been reached. The control circuitry places the highway crossing equipment in a failsafe condition when the maximum out of service time has been reached without receiving the subsequent input from the switch.

The system includes at least two magnetometers associated with the at least one track and placed at corners of a crossing area between the at least one track and a road. The system also includes a level crossing control unit configured for receiving data from the magnetometers. Each magnetometer is arranged to detect a respective magnetic field vector of the earth's magnetic field and to send data representative of the magnetic field vector to the control unit. The control unit is configured to elaborate the data to detect changes in the magnetic field vectors due to the presence of a train in the crossing area and to control the level crossing as a function of the detected changes.

摘要： Controlling a level crossing includes one or more transceivers located in proximity of a level crossing area on a first side of a railway track; corresponding passive reflective targets located in proximity of the level crossing area on a second side of the railway track opposite to the first side where each transceiver is located and a control unit connected to each transceiver. Each target is arranged to receive RF signals coming from each transceiver and to send back corresponding reflected signals. Each transceiver is arranged to elaborate said reflected signals to calculate predetermined parameters values. Also, the control unit is arranged to acquire said parameters values from each transceiver and to elaborate them to detect the presence of a train in an area around the level crossing area and, in case of presence of said train, to send a warning message and/or close bars of the level crossing.

摘要： An automated warning time inspection system and method to test a warning time at a railroad grade crossing on each route for a train. The automated warning time inspection system comprises a track circuit configured to activate when a train enters the track circuit, an event recorder configured to record a first log time for activation of a crossing warning system, a camera to detect a first motion detection indication in a motion detection zone of the camera if there is any motion and an island circuit to detect a presence of the train as the train enters an island. The event recorder to record a third log time for switch position indications when present. The event recorder to record a fourth log time for activation of the island circuit. The camera to detect a second motion detection indication in the motion detection zone of the camera after the activation of the island circuit if there is any motion. The event recorder to calculate and record a warning time as a difference between the first log time and the third log time and based on a motion detection before or after the activation of the island circuit and whether the warning time was more than or equal to a threshold time and whether the train was travelling more than or equal to a threshold speed a passing or a failing of the warning time inspection is logged into the event recorder in a given route of the train travelling on the train track.
