The surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24) are configured relative to each other and to the at least one light source (11, 12) such that during operation of the at least one light source, at least a majority of the surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24) is free from shadow with respect to the rays of anti-biofouling light from the at least one light source (11, 12), wherein it may be possible for the rays of anti-biofouling light to reach the surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24) by skimming along the surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24).

摘要： A watercraft propulsion device for protecting marine life includes a tube that is coupled to a hull of a marine vessel. The tube has a front end and a back end that are open. The front end is circumferentially larger than the back end so that the tube is tapered. An impeller assembly is positioned in the tube. The impeller assembly is operationally coupled to a drive shaft of the marine vessel. A power plant of the marine vessel is positioned to rotate the impeller assembly concurrently with the drive shaft to increase a pressure and a flow of water through the tube to generate thrust to propel the marine vessel. A grate is coupled to a front perimeter of the tube so that the grate covers the front end. The grate is configured to deter entry of a marine organism into the tube.

As shown, the propeller blades extend from one or more apertures in the adaptor. The adaptor attaches to the trailing end of the motor housing and is maintained on the drive shaft through the use of one or more fasteners.

摘要： What is provided is a propeller guard apparatus that may be readily configured to a variety of different boat motors. Described embodiments of the propeller guard apparatus comprise a cylindrical housing configured to circumferentially enclose a propeller from all sides in order to protect humans, pets, and aquatic wildlife from being entangled or cut by the propeller. Described embodiments of the propeller guard apparatus also comprise a protective structure, such as a skid plate comprising of at least two pieces of metal attached from the cylindrical housing to an end of the outer casing to form a folded T-shaped configuration. This type of configuration serves to protect the propeller from damage caused by submerged objects and aquatic wildlife found in shallow water. Also, the folded T-shaped configuration may push vegetation, weeds, manatees, and other aquatic wildlife away from the path of the moving boat and its propeller.

摘要： A marine propulsion system for shallow waters, swamps, savannahs and the like includes a rotating propeller shaft supporting a propeller. An anti-cavitation body defines a partial cylinder having a longitudinal axis adjacent to the propeller. The propeller generates a vacuum between the anti-cavitation body and a surface of a water body. First and second wings adjacent to edges of the anti-cavitation body are generally planar and operatively angled towards the bottom of a water body. The first and second wings are adjusted to run below the water body surface and seal the anti-cavitation body to maintain generated vacuum. A first thread is cut in a first helical direction at an end of the rotating propeller shaft adjacent the propeller, and slightly more distal therefrom a second thread is cut in a second helical direction opposed to the first thread helical direction. The second thread drives matter away from the bearing.

摘要： A silicone bond coat composition having a viscosity of less than 1,600 centistokes is applied to substantially all external surfaces of the article and then cured. A liquid silicone elastomer outer coat composition comprising a high viscosity first liquid silicone elastomer formulation and a low viscosity second liquid silicone elastomer formulation is then applied and cured to provide a protected article having a complex shape. Optimal coatings result from a careful balancing of component viscosities. In an embodiment, the first formulation has a viscosity greater than 300,000 centistokes, and the second formulation has a viscosity less than 6,000 centistokes, and the liquid silicone elastomer outer coat composition comprises from about 60 to about 40 percent by weight of the first formulation and from about 40 to about 60 percent by weight of the second liquid silicone elastomer formulation.
