    • A device comprising an electrically conductive surface portion is provided for immersion in an electrically conductive liquid such as water. At least one load electrode is provided for supplying an electric load current into the electrically conductive liquid. Further, an electrode, e.g., one or more of the at least one load electrode acts as protection electrode. A protection current source, e.g., a resistor, is electrically coupled to the conductive surface portion and to the protection electrode for providing a protection current flowing between the electrically conductive surface portion and the electrode. Further, the protection current source is adapted for changing the protection current in response to a change in the load current.

    • An electrical connector for an anode has a terminal for an electric cable, at least two magnet devices for attracting the connector onto a metal structure, a plate electrically connecting the magnet devices to one another and to the terminal, and a deformable member connecting the magnet devices. When the connector connects an anode to a surface, the magnet forces draw the magnet devices against the surface in order to make up the connection. The deformable member allows relative movement of the magnet devices, permitting them to align themselves in an optimum configuration to maximise the surface area of the magnet devices that are in contact with the metal structure, providing a large electrical conduit between the connector and the cable connected to the terminal, and allowing for more reliable electrical connection between the anode and the structure.

    • A device for the cathodic protection of a metal wall against corrosion in a saline environment, includes an anode and means for connecting said anode to said wall. The anode has a higher electrochemical potential than the wall, wherein the anode is placed in a compartment delimited by a wall permeable to electrons and, optionally, to water. The device includes a porous outer layer made from a material selected from: polymeric materials, ceramic materials or hydrated inorganic materials and at least one porous layer having the ability to collect the cations emitted by the anode during the dissolution of same. The material forming the at least one layer is selected from osmotic membranes, active carbon, a cation exchange resin such as a zeolite, a cation-collecting polymer with nanofillers, cation-collecting mineral compounds such as phyllosilicates and inosilicates, cation-retaining nanofiltering semi-permeable organic microporous membranes.
