摘要： An unmanned aerial vehicle according to certain embodiments generally includes a chassis, a power supply mounted to the chassis, a control system operable to receive power from the power supply, at least one rotor operable to generate lift under control of the control system, and a winch mounted to the chassis. The winch includes a reel and a motor. The reel has a line wound thereon, the line having a free end. The reel includes a circumferential channel in which a wound portion of the line is wound onto the reel. The circumferential channel includes an inner portion, an outer portion, and a passage connecting the inner portion and the outer portion. The motor is operable to rotate the reel under control of the control system to thereby cause the line to wind onto and off of the reel, thereby causing the free end of the line to raise and lower.

摘要： The present invention realizes a medical material transport system that is low-cost, stable, and safe, the medical material transport system being such that even if a failure occurs in an individual specimen transport device, the failure does not extend to the system as a whole. Collection of a specimen is requested from a specimen collection request terminal 107, and a management unit (108) issues a reception command 110 for the specimen. A drone 101 that has received the reception command 110 for the specimen departs from a standby dock 105 on the basis of the received information and flies to a specimen recovery location 106, and a specimen tray for placing the specimen is taken out from a specimen holder 102. A specimen container is contained in the specimen tray, and the specimen tray is returned to the specimen holder 102 and locked using a lock mechanism. The drone 101 flies to an arrival station 104, and after arriving, uses an unlocking key, and the specimen tray is disengaged from the specimen holder 102. After the specimen container in the specimen tray is collected, the specimen tray is placed in the specimen holder 102, and the drone 101 returns to the standby dock 105.

摘要： Techniques involve releasing and/or capturing a fixed-wing aircraft using an aerial vehicle with VTOL capabilities while the fixed-wing aircraft is in flight. For example, the VTOL aerial vehicle may take off vertically while carrying the fixed-wing aircraft and then fly horizontally before releasing the fixed-wing aircraft. Upon release, the fixed-wing aircraft flies independently to perform a mission (e.g., surveillance, payload delivery, combinations thereof, etc.). After the fixed-wing aircraft has completed its mission, the VTOL aerial vehicle may capture the fixed-wing aircraft while both are in flight, and then land together vertically. Such operation enables the fixed-wing aircraft to vertically take off and/or land while avoiding certain drawbacks associated with a conventional VTOL kit such as being burdened by weight and drag from the VTOL kit's rotors/propellers, mounting hardware, etc. during a mission which otherwise would limit the fixed-wing aircraft's maximum airspeed, ceiling, payload capacity, endurance, and so on.
